I have stood against ethnic-based politics when espoused by some leaders in Mt Kenya. In equal measure, I strongly stand against the Hassan Omar type of ethnic baiting that seeks to isolate the people of Mt Kenya. The Tutam movement, to which we remain fully committed, is a national movement that does not legitimize the spewing of ethnic hatred, however couched. Someone can sit in a boardroom and approve such a plan on an already narrow busy road serving Nyali , Bamburi and onwards even Mtwapa Vipingo +++

Links Road is already too narrow for all the traffic due to all the new apartment blocks. A plot that used to house one residence suddenly has 80 apartments which means 100+ cars .

Who needs a flower bed on a major road busy commercial street, links Road is now a commercial road. There is already a pedestrian lane then someone in his wisdom decides to place concrete flower beds ostensibly they think they are beutyfing the place.

Would you imagine that CS Hassan Joho @HassanAliJoho gathered Coastal ODM in Kilifi yesterday, and demanded the position of Party Leader, currently occupied by Dr Oburu Oginga @dr_oburuoginga?

Why isn't there rage and anger about it? Why isn't everyone reminding Joho and ODM Coast that Oburu must be respected? Why isn't anyone telling Oburu to sit hard with two buttocks and ignore those who want his seat?

Has Wanga @gladyswanga heard what was said in Kilifi? Has Junet @JunetMohamed heard? Where are the custodians of the ODM Respectometer to measure for us this one? What does it read on the Respect Scale?

If you remove Joho from those videos and place Edwin Sifuna, and he says only a fraction of what Joho and Coast ODM did, what would Thursday look like today?

There would be pressers from Homa Bay to Mandera. Screams and lamentations. Fidelity and loyalty contests (with Kajwang's video to boot). State House pilgrimages. All media houses reporting an impending expulsion from the party.

One of the nicest things happening within the Transaction Wing of ODM is the realisation that Sifuna wasn't even the enemy. Janet Mohamed is waking up to the reality that Okech Salah is the real Somali power link to Ruto in ODM while Gladys Wanga now knows that President Ruto's eye in Homa Bay and the Nyanza region is PS Raymond Omolo. And PS Omolo doesn't blackmail the President with "we will give you ODM in exchange for the DP position".

Which reminds me of the sheer shamelessness of the ODM Transaction Wing. After the 2022 elections, Junet simply disappeared (apparently after attending a few meetings at which he would cry like a baby each time MPs asked him about what happened to Raila's agents and their money during the election). He basically decided to "achia nyinyi chama yenu".

It is at that same time that his sidekick, Hassan Joho, took a sabbatical and went to the USA. For all intents and purposes, they were done with ODM politics. Then rumours swirled that Raila was having talks with Ruto and something may come out of it. Their friend, NIS DG Noordin, was facilitating those talks, so they discovered about them early. Both of them suddenly returned to make claims for one CS post and the Minority Leadership slot, against much deserving people.

Interestingly, these are the people who now keep the "chase list" and are against the exact people who safeguarded the party while they took their sabbaticals. Last month, at the ODM@20 celebrations, for instance, Joho sent Mombasa MPs, one after the other, to declare him the Mombasa County leader, yet the serving Governor, Abdulswamad Nassir, was there. Very humiliating to the incumbent Governor. The people who leave when things are tough, have no moral authority to draw any expulsion list, especially against those who shed tears with Raila and were left alone with him when the Transaction Wing had moved to other business.

Gachagua may be a liar and fool, but there is no way he can name the ODM "salesmen" so correctly if he didn't have details. After all, the sellers started their moves while he was still DP!

This an achievement for the nation but the coastal citizens must celebrate it most. 1st; A native son is shoulder to shoulder with international achievers. 2nd; The coast's economy is entirely Blue Economy based. Livelihoods are set to improve immensely with these initiatives.

Being elected as the Vice President of the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference (UNOC 3) which kicked off today in Nice, France, inspires me as it places us in a pivotal position to advance the interests of Kenya and Africa on the global stage.

As Vice-President of this esteemed global organization, I will have the opportunity to advocate for our country's interests and deliver interventions on behalf of specific groups, including the African Group, at the 3rd Ocean Action. I will also represent our continent at High-Level events related to the conference.

I am optimistic that this role will significantly elevate our country's profile in matters of ocean conservation.

Accompanying me at the conference is Ms. @PS_Betsy_Njagi, Principal Secretary of Blue Economy and Fisheries.
