People keep saying "Solana will have to increase fees and it'll end up just like Ethereum".
Not quite - Ethereum is like this because it has low hardware requirements to maintain a high lvl of decentralization to support its rollup-centric roadmap.
Solana will probably have to incorporate some dynamic fee structure to prevent spam, but it almost certainly won't end up like Ethereum. I don't expect $50 tx fees anytime soon.
It runs on more powerful machines with a parallelized VM. This means fewer validators and less potential for decentralization, but higher TPS and lower fees compared to Ethereum.
Ethereum and Solana have different priorities. I expect Solana fees (once implemented) to still be quite low when compared to Ethereum, as the base layer experience is imperative to Solana's success.
