Week 16: Stats + Patch Notes 🧵
Light on changes this week, as we've been cooking up a big overhaul behind the scenes.
A few quality fixes in the meantime ⬇️
MegaETH is sunsetting the terminal program
it had a really great start, with +39K active addresses on day 1 and +$380K app revenue
but next days were more complicated
in May 19th:
- only 5,877 addresses were active (-85% vs day 1)
- only $19,398 app revenue (-95% vs day 1)

people aren't into L2 farming/points campaigns anymore, and the lack of interest around the Terminal campaign is a proof of it
my opinion is that MegaETH's team is taking the right decision for the ecosystem to stop the program here (in trading terms, they're kinda cutting their trade for a loss here, instead of waiting to be liquidated)
it is hard to justify giving $ millions of your tokens for those results
now i'm curious to see:
- what they'll do to compensate people that were farming the campaign
- what they'll do to attract more users and generate more rev. for their apps
- how will they remain attractive for devs vs other ecosystems (Abstract for example)
we're currently working on a new and improved MoG experience (dubbed mog2 internally due to scope of changes).

this is a great breakdown on why we made some of the decisions we did
weekly pools were mostly because the abs incentive system was on a weekly basis
but we understood that degens needed instant gratification too, which is why we introduced the blessing system
these work together to create a rewarding experience where all playertypes (whales, smaller players, weekly optimizers, bAXS grinders, blessing chasers) can play for their goals
but i also acknowledge our system isn't perfect. We're working on retention tools and more interesting reward structures to cater for even more players
