@Crenel maintenance module will let you do that. If that works, there may well be some sort of timeline issue with your server.

@Crenel either way you're adding a nav item to the list through the same interface right? If its not there, try clearing the cache.

@splat_web an Internal Server Error could be almost anything. Can you check system/cms/logs/<date>.php and see if there is anything there?
