The Singing Chef

Providing @MediaCityUK not only with breakfast, but also a nasal, Mancunian take on the classics. Weekday mornings from 5.

If it's good enough for pigeons it's good enough for us. #bringbackplastic to the BBC canteen. https://t.co/PkHwWn4aKl

[Terry Elborn @hoopoe2016te]

Yet another sad sign of the times. A pigeon nest photographed in Bournemouth this week made of plastic & elastic band's! More action is needed on plastics & fast, both locally & globally @michaelgove @Bournemouthecho
@ChrisGPackham
@DorsetBirdClub @PlasticOceans @PlasticPollutes

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

I always said #Manchester is a world-leading city! Such a shame our canteen can no longer take credit for this. #bringbackbbcplastic https://t.co/TAklp8DH7B

[The Telegraph @Telegraph]

Why Manchester's rivers have the highest level of microplastic pollution anywhere in the world
https://t.co/PTnVHr5zgo

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

Like you, I was annoyed we got rid of plastic in the canteen. But then I found out we have it on tap! #goodnews https://t.co/g6qnlxvklk

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

To those of you missing plastic from the canteen, don't worry just order the tuna panini https://t.co/7zrZBvwJCG

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

Now let's not gloat at the Aussies too much. They deserve our respect: these are the people who gave us pop icons like Tina Arena & Gina G.

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

I'll also send a weekly email. Like Salmon's emails, they'll contain nothing of great interest but will make liberal use of caps lock.

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

Instead of using the ringmain, senior management broadcasts will now be expressed musically, by me, from the top of the atrium.

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

Instead of promo banners for boring northern dramas starring ex-soap stars, the atrium will now exhibit iconic images of the Head of Atriums

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

THIS TWEET IS GOING TO EVERYONE: I've just been appointed as BBC Head of Atriums. This role now gives me equal authority to Salmon.

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

Hey @itvjeremykyle & @NickyAACampbell, fancy a drink after work? Us beloved showbiz icons shouldn't carry the burden of greatness alone.

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

Planning my album photoshoot: if u kno Al Yentob pls ask if I can borrow his Rolls Royce & wad of £50s. If he has a crown I can use that too

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

My taxi co. of choice is @MantaxTaxi. As a performer I like to be fashionably late, and they never let me down. (this msg is not sponsored)

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

Hey @JWhittingdale, I'm of a similar pedigree to the rest of the experts you've assembled to determine the future of the BBC. Let's talk.

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

Cost-cutting idea #5: to have 5 BBC orchestras is totally necessary (if anything we need more) but I could replace the brass section in one.

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

BBC cost-cutting idea #4: sell Maida Vale & relocate all studio gear to Q5 kitchen. (Salmon to direct the move: gives him something to do)

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

BBC cost-cutting idea #3: save on @BBC6Music's PRS payments by giving me a daily, vocal-only improv show.

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

@steve_mawhinney by 'heck of a legacy', do you mean 'I'm yet to read a single one of his tedious weekly emails'?

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

@SiClancy @bbc5live @iaincartergolf does the programme require any musical accompaniment?

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

BBC cost-cutting idea #2: pay off Peter Salmon. I'll do the job for half the fee, a Segway and a megaphone.

[The Singing Chef @Q5singingchef]

BBC cost-cutting idea #1: replace @bbcweather with me singing Crowded House covers.
