It also would have major contributions to suicide prevention and potentially a stepping stone to provide more resources to help prevent these tragedies.
Gun violence and gun facilitated suicide rates are persistent issues in the United States. In this study, I aimed to see trends where gun violence is significantly more prominent and hope to find a correlation with the state's respective gun laws.
In the current social climate where there is a lot of stigma around mental health, the firearm-suicide rates are significantly high. This research is aimed at state and federal policies to increase restrictions and this public safety.
States, want to get workers back to work and improve state budgets? RAISE THE MINIMUM WAGE! Difference-in-difference regression across comparable states shows -6% income tax revenue loss for states set at federal minimum wage of $7.25 compared to states with higher minimum wages.
If it were to hold true, from the difference-in-difference equation ran, we would be able to say that the action plan did have a significant impact on addressing the issue of health inequality.
If our treatment and control counties were real it may be plausible to conclude that the action plan put into place by HHS was successful. However, the data and trials were imperfect and did not accurately describe the actuality of the situation.
💸 new establishment entrants!💸
Very little to no correlation between covid case count and new establishment entries into the market
Possible explanation: normalization of pandemic effects and new small business funding projects established
The biggest contributors to higher death rates were the size of the slide, and water content in the snow. Specifically, longer vertical slide distance and dryer snowfall had an increase in the death rate. This is just scraping the surface, and I plan to expand upon this research.
@betervroom The past nine years have been the deadliest avalanche seasons in Utah's history. To better understand why this is happening I designed a research project surrounding snow science and safety
Along with avalanche data, I wanted to test if snowfall had something to do with the increase as well, and got snowfall data from Alta Ski Resort. I found that deaths are significantly increasing every year, and that snowfall is not a significant cause.
Stalled human activity is a promising avenue of research into mitigating the effects of climate change—specifically air pollutants.
Moves to remote-working, green initiatives (such as electric cars) may help communities reduce active air pollution

How did Stay-at-Home Orders affect Carbon Monoxide Levels in the United States?
Stay-at-home orders were found to, on average, decrease Carbon Monoxide levels in the states that enacted stay-at-home orders.
Carbon Monoxide does not have a cyclical nature, as shown in the above event study graphic from 2019. Carbon Monoxide levels do not normally decrease this time of year, this is specific to stay-at-home orders being enacted
