To celebrate Imbolc/St. Bríd’s Day, QÉIRE is hosting a new event - ‘Unburying Bríd: Performances inspired by colonial/religious erasure and queer resistance.’

The event will take place Wednesday, 1st February 7-8:30 pm in the Vintage Room, upstairs at Workman's.

To celebrate her, leave a piece of cloth (Bratóg Bhríde) outside your home to be blessed, or wear white flowers in your hair.

Her feast day is shared with Darlughdach, who was her companion, student, successor, and possible lover.

She is known as the ‘mother of Ireland’ and was worshipped by the Filid (a class of poets and historians in Celtic Ireland and Britain.)

She is a patroness of poetry, healing, and learning.

The screening is just one week away on 17 October. The film will be live-screened in the theatre in Outhouse, which is unfortunately only accessible by stairs, and will be open from 6:00 PM (GMT). The online screening will occur simultaneously, with the film beginning at 6:15 PM.
