As we enter week 5 of expanding our intergenerational dialogues across the country, it was refreshing to hear over 25,000 young students and community leaders representing eight counties declare: it’s time we move from SHOUTING at each other to TALKING to each other.

Allowing ourselves to leverage the exponential potential and innovative ideas of our young people, while integrating these ideas with the wisdom and experience of our older generation, is a national breakthrough!

It’s been a beautiful experience over the last few weeks, interacting with student and community leaders across the 47 counties in Kenya. I recently engaged with young leaders from Kilifi County as we discussed important topics around youth empowerment, entrepreneurship, employment, drug abuse, and expanding representation.

It was a heartwarming experience to receive thoughtful gifts and learn some life-saving dance moves that gave deeper meaning to the coastal culture and its people.
