It's really easy for senior officers to come out and tell us there was "incompetence" (BTP) and referrals for (gross) misconduct (Met), but I want to know this -
What were the overall workloads of the BTP investigator / Met RSO managers in this example?

The @NorfolkPolice officer bitten in Thetford on Wednesday night was taken to hospital, treated and discharged. She spent Thursday at home feeling a bit battered.
But by the evening she was back at work, on the line in Thetford again because she knew her colleagues would be there and didn't want to let them down.
Sometimes I think we don't deserve these brave young people.
Full credit to the Thames Valley Police Chief here, in this day and age it takes a brave individual to speak out - ordinarily they toe the party line.
TVP Chief speaks out about the early release of PC Andrew Harper's killers.
🚨 NEW: Thames Valley Police has condemned Andy Burnham for allowing PC Andrew Harper's killers to be released early
"This decision is demoralising for all police officers that put themselves in harm's way to protect and serve their community"
Another failed chief constable ‘gets out’ before accountability.
Not quite as lucky as Chief Constable Kate Meynell of @nottspolice who managed her early retirement and immediate reapplication for a sideways senior role.
Whilst three separate @policeconduct investigations into her own conduct, knowledge and investigations of her own failed force into the Nottingham Attacks are taking place; oh yes, and the statutory #NottinghamInquiry.
When will our public agencies ever hold highly paid ‘leaders’ to account and STOP protecting them?
#shameful
Chair Steve Kent said: “James displayed immense bravery in tackling this agitated man, especially as he was off duty and didn’t have any PPE." https://t.co/oAtKpOkQ07
The SNP leadership’s style - both Nicola Sturgeon and John Swinney - is to silence critics, operate in secrecy and engage in cover up.
I saw it during the Salmond Inquiry and I am seeing it now.
If John Swinney has nothing to hide then he should welcome a parliamentary inquiry.
STUBB: Ukrainians eliminating 35,000 Russian soldiers per month, launching more drones and missiles into Russia than vice versa. Ukraine reclaiming territory, striking deeper into Russia. Popularity of war in Russia is shrinking. Tides are actually turning and Ukraine is on top.
She was his boss, she was the SNP leader, she was the treasurer, she signed off the snp accounts, she shut down anyone who dared ask about the accounts.
She knew.
She is a liar and no amount of crocodile tears can save her.
Don’t be fooled. Nicola Sturgeon (wife) is not being held responsible for her husband’s crimes. As leader of the party she is being called to account for her deliberate frustration of the legitimate scrutiny which might have revealed those crimes. The distinction is 💯 clear.
The reason I became a “persistent critic” of the SNP leadership from 2017 onwards was that I became aware of ineptitude & a whiff of corruption behind the scenes. The backlash was very unpleasant but I’m proud to have been vindicated. It was worth it. https://t.co/lME8KZr3yC
🚨"Nicola Sturgeon denies any knowledge of her husband's crimes despite using a 700 quid pen. Whilst checking the time on her 5 grand watch and sipping coffee from a 3 grand coffee machine"
