Independent researchers exploring how the spread of misinformation & disinformation contributes to extremism. Current focus- convoy watch & 1776RM. they/them
Hi all, I've been incredibly sick for the past week & today is the first day I've been able to tolerate screens. I'm still not well and likely won't be back on Twitter much till I have another few days offline to recover, just wanted to let you all know I'm alive and on the mend.
@carpinsandiego They might also be using the permit application process to explain Santa's absence from the site for extended periods during the day- the application page says specifically they don't accept fax or email applications. He could claim to be doing that but instead go nap at a hotel.
Its Wednesday, July 13th and a portion of the 1776 Restoration Movement is still hanging out on the national mall. The streamer says 22 were in DC yesterday and 15 went back to Bunker Hill to help the camp recover from storm damage (not sure if that's people or vehicles). 1 of n
The meeting is over and they're just sitting on the mall in lawn chairs (again) so I'm gonna call it a night. Tomorrow 8am meeting then they'll go to the National Archives to see the constitution- here's hoping they don't annoy other visitors too much. 19 of 19, end of thread
It seems like the meeting is over, they're all still chatting and Riddell is rambling but it's about stuff like cigars and karaoke and stuff. Oh yeah, they've just prayed and done the pledge and people are wandering away, so the meeting is over. 18 of n
@cudmore_iot So even if they get a permit for a multi-day protest, then if the stay over night and break the rules will the permit get pulled? I'm looking forward to them going through the permitting process- I think they'll find a bunch of common restrictions to get unreasonably mad about.
@Sadgasm305 That would mesh with how well they understand protesting, civil disobedience, and the legal system works (in other words, not well at all). Permits are useful for logistics and in a few other ways, but they don't magically make people un-arrestable or something.
@welpivefallen He's still listed an inmate in the WV system so I don't think he's out yet. Still, computers can be wrong so I can't say anything for sure- though I'm guessing that once he's released the 1776RM will make a big deal about it.
@tla_iam @RickHaught3 I mean, I could see them pulling that kind of grift if the opportunity arose, the fundraising for the arrestees give send gos seem to be doing better than overall fundraising (from what little I can see of that).
@earle_gail For registration- it seems like (by WV's laws) the offender only needs to register after spending "fifteen continuous days" in WV. I don't know if there are different requirements from the home state for how they need to register before travelling though. https://t.co/04QffyA5u8
@earle_gail The marriage was mentioned b/c 1) Big D had to sign something for the wedding before he was taken away by the cop and 2) they were trying to argue that Big D was just in Maryland so they should have given him the info on charges then. It's a silly argument imo.
