The Age of Consent should be on a federal basis, not a state one. I personally see an appropriate and safe federal age of consent being set to a reasonable 15, or 13 but with parental consent included until age 15.
It is proven that 65-70% of America “children” have engaged, thought about, or actively pursed sexual relations or viewing pornography by the time they’re 11.

By taking agency and accountability away from “minors”, we are setting up the next generations for failure. It is essential people go through the motions of making connections romantically and sexually through relationships.
Sometimes, too many safeguards are just that, too many, and can actually have opposite effects on people’s healthy development.

To be more blunt, people got soft and started over coddling their children and sheltering them, almost to the point where many Gen Z and Gen Alpha Individuals are basically guaranteed to be socially unstable and have a history of failed social and romantic interactions.
