Jalen Hurts Training Camp Stats: Day 4
Jalen Hurts came out on fire to start practice on Monday and he proceeded to have easily his best day of camp so far
Hurts started the day with three straight completions, hitting Wicks on a deep shot on this first throw on a crossing route about 25ish yards down the field. His next throw was to Devonta Smith along the sideline and he finished the drive with a completion to Elijah Moore over the middle of the field about 20 yards deep between the hash marks
Hurts followed up that series with his first touchdown of camp, hitting Elijah Moore deep (about 40ish yards) in stride at the one-yard line. Moore had to avoid one defender to get in but I think in a game his moment carries him in
After that the team went in the red zone where Hurts had touchdowns on back-to-back plays. His first was a really nicely placed ball to Devonta from one yard out in the front corner of the end zone. The second was a tough play as Hurts had to avoid pressure, rolled to his left and then threw it across his body for a TD to Smith in the front center of the end zone
Hurts only blemish on the day was an interception in 7v7. It was the first pass of the drill and it went right to Quinyon Mitchell on what was supposed to be a quick pass along the sideline to Moore. It looked to me like Moore stopped running which made it an easy INT by Quinyon. Itโs possible it was a miscommunication
Overall Monday was a very strong day from Hurts. It was a good reminder that if Hurts plays awesome this offense is going to be just fine
