Consultative Sessions on National Human Rights Action Plan Continue in Doha

The Consultative Sessions on the National Human Rights Action Plan (2026-2030) have continued in Doha.

The sessions are organized by the National Committee for the Preparation of the National Human Rights Action Plan, chaired by HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad.

Monday's consultative session was hosted by HE Secretary-General of the National Planning Council Dr. Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa.

The session went on several topics relevant to the council's purview, along with suggestions and orientations supporting the preparation of the plan to enhance its alignment with national policies and legislation.

Upon wrapping up the session, the importance of this action plan as a national framework that fosters the protection of human rights was emphasized.

Consultation with Attorney General on National Human Rights Action Plan Continue

Consultative sessions on Qatar's National Human Rights Action Plan (2026 - 2030) continued today as part of the ongoing efforts led by the committee responsible for drafting the plan, with the participation of HE Attorney-General Dr. Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi.

The consultative session was hosted by the Public Prosecution and attended by HE Minister of State for International Cooperation Maryam bint Ali bin Nasser Al Misnad.

During the session, participants reviewed a number of issues related to the mandate and responsibilities of the Public Prosecution, while also discussing proposals and policy directions aimed at supporting the development of the National Human Rights Action Plan. Discussions focused on ensuring the plan's alignment with national legislation, public policies, and international best practices in the field of human rights.

Participants emphasized the importance of maintaining coordination and consultation among relevant national institutions, reflecting Qatar's collaborative approach to the development and implementation of national strategies and reinforcing institutional cooperation in the promotion and protection of human rights.

The session also highlighted the value of integrating the perspectives and expertise of key stakeholders to ensure that the forthcoming action plan effectively addresses national priorities while strengthening the country's human rights framework.

At the conclusion of the meeting, participants reaffirmed that the National Human Rights Action Plan represents a comprehensive national framework for the promotion and protection of human rights. They also underscored the Public Prosecution's role as a key partner and an integral component of national efforts aimed at advancing the human rights system and further strengthening the principles of the rule of law and justice in the State of Qatar.

HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani met on Sunday with HE Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates of the sisterly Arab Republic of Egypt Dr. Badr Abdelatty.

The meeting discussed cooperation relations between the two countries, along with ways to support and strengthen them. It also discussed mediation efforts between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, in addition to the developments in Lebanon, the Gaza Strip, and the occupied Palestinian territories.

The meeting also addressed coordinating efforts to support mediation aimed at reducing escalation, which contributes to strengthening security and stability in the region.

HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs voiced the need for all parties to respond to the ongoing mediation efforts, which would open the way for addressing the root causes of the crisis through peaceful means and dialogue, and lead to reaching a sustainable agreement that prevents renewed escalation.

تدين دولة قطر الهجوم الذي استهدف موقعا تابعا لقوة الأمم المتحدة المؤقتة في لبنان "اليونيفيل" بجنوب البلاد، وأدى لمقتل جندي صربي وإصابة جنديين آخرين من السلفادور وإسبانيا، وتعده انتهاكا خطيرا لقواعد القانون الإنساني الدولي وقرار مجلس الأمن رقم (1701).

وتجدد وزارة الخارجية، رفض دولة قطر التام لأي اعتداء يستهدف قوة "اليونيفيل"التي تضطلع بدور أساسي في حفظ الأمن والاستقرار في الجمهورية اللبنانية الشقيقة، وتشدد على ضرورة فتح تحقيق عاجل بشأن الهجوم وتقديم المسؤولين عنه للعدالة.

وتعرب الوزارة عن تعازي دولة قطر لذوي الجندي وحكومة وشعب جمهورية صربيا، وتمنياتها للمصابين بالشفاء العاجل.

وتناول الدكتور الأنصاري، في مداخلته خلال الجلسة، عددا من القضايا الإقليمية والدولية، وتطورات الأوضاع في المنطقة وانعكاساتها على الأمن والاستقرار، بالإضافة إلى دور دولة قطر في الوساطة وجهودها الدبلوماسية في معالجة الأزمات الدولية.

وركز على العلاقات الخليجية – الخليجية، وأهمية تعزيز التعاون والتنسيق المشترك، لا سيما في الجوانب الأمنية في ظل التحديات الإقليمية الراهنة، كما تطرق إلى قضايا أمن الطاقة والمياه، مشيرا إلى أهمية الممرات الحيوية مثل مضيق هرمز وتأثيراتها على الاستقرار الإقليمي والعالمي.

8 دول عربية وإسلامية تدين في بيان مشترك استمرار اقتحامات المستوطنين للمسجد الأقصى المبارك ورفع العلم الإسرائيلي داخل باحاته

يدين وزراء خارجية كل من دولة قطر، والمملكة العربية السعودية، والمملكة الأردنية الهاشمية، ودولة الإمارات العربية المتحدة، وجمهورية إندونيسيا، وجمهورية باكستان الإسلامية، وجمهورية مصر العربية، والجمهورية التركية، بأشدّ العبارات استمرار اقتحامات المستوطنين المتطرفين الإسرائيليين للمسجد الأقصى المبارك/ الحرم القدسي الشريف تحت حماية القوات الإسرائيلية، وكذلك رفع العلم الإسرائيلي داخل باحاته. ويؤكّدون أنّ هذه الأعمال الاستفزازية والمرفوضة تشكّل انتهاكًا صارخًا للقانون الدولي، وقرارات الأمم المتحدة ذات الصلة، والوضع التاريخي والقانوني القائم في الأماكن المقدسة في القدس الشرقية والقدس الشرقية المحتلة.

كما يدين وزراء الخارجية استمرار الانتهاكات والإجراءات المُمنهَجة واللاشرعية التي تنفّذها السلطات الإسرائيلية، القوة القائمة بالاحتلال، والهادفة إلى تغيير الطابع التاريخي والقانوني والديموغرافي للقدس الشرقية المحتلة، وتدنيس وتقويض قدسية ومكانة مقدساتها الإسلامية والمسيحية.

ويؤكّدون مجدّدًا رفضهم القاطع لأيّ محاولات لتغيير الوضع التاريخي والقانوني القائم في القدس ومقدساتها الإسلامية والمسيحية، ويشدّدون على ضرورة الحفاظ عليه، مع الإقرار بالدور الخاص للوصاية الهاشمية التاريخية في هذا الشأن. كما يكرر الوزراء التأكيد على أنّ كامل مساحة المسجد الأقصى المبارك / الحرم القدسي الشريف، البالغة 144 دونمًا هي مكان عبادة خالص للمسلمين، وأنّ دائرة أوقاف القدس وشؤون المسجد الأقصى المبارك التابعة لوزارة الأوقاف والشؤون والمقدسات الإسلامية الأردنية هي الجهة القانونية صاحبة الولاية الحصرية لإدارة كافة شؤون المسجد الأقصى المبارك/ الحرم القدسي الشريف وتنظيم الدخول إليه.

ويحمّل الوزراء السلطات الإسرائيلية مسؤولية وقف هذه الإجراءات التصعيدية ويحذّرون من أنّ الانتهاكات الإسرائيلية المتكررة تؤدّي إلى تفاقم التوترات، وتأجيج حالة عدم الاستقرار والتطرف، وتقويض الجهود الدولية الرامية إلى تحقيق السلام، كما أنّها تشكّل خرقًا واضحًا لالتزامات إسرائيل بموجب القانون الدولي. ويدعون إلى الوقف الفوري لجميع هذه الممارسات الإسرائيلية غير القانونية والاستفزازية، ويؤكّدون مجدّدًا ضرورة احترام الوضع التاريخي والقانوني القائم في المسجد الأقصى المبارك/ الحرم القدسي الشريف بكامله.

ويؤكّد وزراء الخارجية مجدّدًا تضامنهم الراسخ مع الشعب الفلسطيني ودعمهم الثابت لتحقيق حقوقه الوطنية المشروعة وغير القابلة للتصرف، وفي مقدّمتها حقه في تقرير المصير وإقامة الدولة الفلسطينية المستقلة ذات السيادة على خطوط الرابع من حزيران لعام 1967 وعاصمتها القدس الشرقية. كما يجدّدون دعمهم لجميع الجهود الرامية إلى إنهاء الاحتلال الإسرائيلي وتحقيق سلام عادل ودائم وشامل على اساس حل الدولتين ووفقاً للقانون الدولي وقرارات الأمم المتحدة ذات الصلة ومبادرة السلام العربية.

تدين دولة قطر بشدة الهجمات الإيرانية على أعيان مدنية في دولة الكويت الشقيقة، ومملكة البحرين الشقيقة، بما في ذلك التي استهدفت مطار الكويت وأدت إلى أضرار جسيمة في عدد من مرافقه وإصابة أشخاص، وتعدّها انتهاكًا خطيرًا لسيادة البلدين، وخرقاً سافرًا لاتفاقيات جنيف لعام 1949 وبروتوكولاتها الإضافية، ومبادئ القانون الدولي الإنساني وتحديدًا مبدأ التمييز، وحظر استهداف المدنيين والأعيان المدنية في النزاعات المسلحة وحظر الهجمات العشوائية.

وتؤكد وزارة الخارجية، رفض دولة قطر التام استهداف الأعيان المدنية والمنشآت الحيوية، وتشدّد في هذا السياق على ضرورة تجنيب المنطقة تبعات الهجمات غير المبررة، والعمل على خفض التصعيد لاستعادة الأمن والاستقرار إقليميًا ودوليًا.  

وتجدّد الوزارة، تضامن دولة قطر الكامل مع دولة الكويت ومملكة البحرين ودعمها لكل ما تتخذاه من إجراءات للحفاظ على سيادتهما وأمنهما.

كما تعبّر الوزارة عن تمنيات دولة قطر للمصابين بالشفاء العاجل، سائلة المولى عز وجل أن يحفظ الكويت والبحرين من كل سوء.

Advisor to the Prime Minister and Official Spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Majid bin Mohammed Al Ansari met today in Berlin with HE State Secretary of the Federal Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany Dr. Geza Andreas von Geyr.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to support and strengthen them as well as explored the latest developments in the region, particularly the mediation efforts between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, in addition to a number of other issues of common concern.

Statement | Qatar Condemns Israeli Extremists' Storming of Al-Aqsa Mosque

The State of Qatar condemns the storming of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque by Israeli extremists, along with the provocative actions carried out under the protection of the occupation forces, describing it as a flagrant violation of international law, an unacceptable provocation of the feelings of millions of Muslims around the world, and a dangerous attempt to impose a new reality in the occupied Jerusalem and its Islamic and Christian sanctities.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stresses that Al-Aqsa Mosque is an exclusively Muslim place of worship and that all unilateral measures aimed at altering the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its sanctities are null and void under international law.

The Ministry warns that the continuation of such violations and repeated provocations could fuel further violence and escalation in the region, undermining prospects for de-escalation and stability. It renews its call on the international community to act urgently and compel Israel, as the occupying power, to stop its ongoing violations against the Palestinian people and their holy sites and to comply with relevant international resolutions.

The Ministry also reiterates the State of Qatar's firm and supportive stance on the Palestinian cause and the steadfastness of the brotherly Palestinian people, based on ending the occupation and enabling the Palestinian people to attain their legitimate rights, foremost among them the establishment of an independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Statement | Qatar Condemns Continued Israeli Assaults on Lebanon, Expansion of Ground Invasion into South

The State of Qatar condemns the persistent Israeli assaults on Lebanon and the expansion of the scope of ground incursion of the occupation army into the country and the targeting of civilians.

It deems these actions a dangerous escalation and an egregious violation of the sovereignty of the brotherly Republic of Lebanon and an open breach of international humanitarian rules-based order.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs calls on the international community to uphold its responsibilities in obliging the Israeli occupation authorities to halt its repeated attacks on Lebanon, respect the international charters and laws, as well as enforce Security Council Resolution 1701 with its full provisions.

It underscores the State of Qatar's enduring position toward the Republic of Lebanon, its unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, emphasizing that Qatar fully backs all efforts that strengthen Lebanon's stability and prosperity.

Cyprus President Commends Qatar's Role in Supporting De-escalation, Promoting Dialogue in Region

HE President of the Republic of Cyprus, Dr. Nikos Christodoulides praised the State of Qatar's important and pivotal role, under the leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, in supporting efforts to promote calm and de-escalation, in addition to strengthening dialogue in the region.

His Excellency also renewed Cyprus' condemnation of the attacks that targeted the State of Qatar as well as other Gulf and Arab states, stressing that such actions are unlawful and that the rules of international law must be respected.

This came during His Excellency's honorable attendance of a luncheon hosted by HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Republic of Cyprus, Yousef Sultan Laram, in the presence of a lineup of Cypriot officials and Their Excellencies Ambassadors and heads of Arab diplomatic missions accredited in Cyprus.

HE the President of the Republic of Cyprus affirmed that his country is continuing to exert the necessary efforts to contribute to de-escalation and promote stability in the region.

Regional developments have a direct impact on Cyprus due to its geographic location and its close ties to the Middle East, His Excellency noted.

He expressed hope that the current crisis would be overcome as soon as possible in a manner that advances security, stability, and cooperation among the peoples of the region.

His Excellency emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation between Qatar and Cyprus, as well as strengthening communication among relevant authorities and increasing high-level bilateral visits.

Enhancing relations among the European Union (EU) and the countries of the Middle East and the Arab world is one of the main priorities of Cyprus's presidency of the Council of the European Union, HE President Christodoulides said.

In turn, HE the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Cyprus expressed his gratitude and appreciation to HE the President of the Republic of Cyprus for his country's supportive stances and solidarity with the State of Qatar regarding the attacks that targeted its territory.

HE Ambassador Laram also commended the efforts of HE the President in strengthening ties between the State of Qatar, Gulf Cooperation Council states, and Arab states on the one hand, and the EU on the other.
