The State of Qatar strongly condemns the repeated Iranian attacks on the fraternal Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait, considering them a blatant violation of the sovereignty of the two countries and a flagrant breach of the rules of international law.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stresses the need to spare the region the consequences of unjustified attacks, to continue on the path of dialogue and diplomacy, to reduce escalation, and to build on the gains achieved within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding, in a way that contributes to consolidating security and stability at the regional and international levels.
The Ministry reiterates the State of Qatar’s full solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain and the State of Kuwait and its support for all measures they take to preserve their sovereignty and security.

The State of Qatar strongly condemns the targeting of the Saudi tanker 'Wedyan' as it transited the Strait of Hormuz, calling the incident a grave violation of international maritime safety, a direct threat to global energy supplies, and a clear breach of international law.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirms that the continuation of these unacceptable attacks constitutes a dangerous escalation that threatens the security and stability of the region, undermines efforts to consolidate regional security and stability, and jeopardizes the gains achieved following the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, including de-escalation and enhanced maritime security in the region.
The Ministry reiterates the State of Qatar's demand that the Islamic Republic of Iran immediately cease all practices that threaten the security of the region, refrain from endangering the security of international navigation and global energy supplies, fully comply with the rules of international law and UN Security Council Resolution 2,817, and take urgent measures to prevent the recurrence of such attacks.

Qatar Participates in Ministerial Meeting on Istanbul Cooperation Initiative, NATO Member States

The State of Qatar participated in the ministerial meeting of the Istanbul Cooperation Initiative (ICI) and NATO member states, held on the sidelines of the NATO Summit in Ankara, Turkiye.
HE Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Dr. Mohammed bin Abdulaziz bin Saleh Al Khulaifi led the State of Qatar's delegation at the meeting.
In his remarks, His Excellency indicated that the meeting comes at a pivotal stage, in which security and political challenges have become more interconnected and intertwined, and international interests have become more overlapping, which makes it necessary to unify efforts and enhance coordination to confront these challenges, which affect the security of Middle Eastern countries and threaten the foundations of regional and international stability.
His Excellency pointed out that the Middle East region has recently witnessed a dangerous escalation, highlighting the grave risks involved in military escalation. He stressed the urgent need to prioritize diplomacy, dialogue, and collective efforts aimed at maintaining regional peace and stability.
HE the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterated the State of Qatar's commitment to the path of dialogue and diplomacy, and the pursuit of de-escalation, and building on the gains achieved under the memorandum of understanding signed between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, in a way that contributes to strengthening security and stability regionally and internationally. He noted that, following the ceasefire and in close coordination with the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and other regional and international partners, Qatar intensified its mediation efforts to help maintain the ceasefire, facilitate the continuation of dialogue, and encourage confidence-building measures between the parties.
His Excellency affirmed the State of Qatar's belief that sustainable security cannot be achieved by military means alone, but rather through diplomacy, direct dialogue, and the creation of political pathways, stressing its commitment to playing the role of a trusted mediator and facilitator of dialogue.
His Excellency added that based on its conviction that diplomacy is the most effective path to resolving disputes, the State of Qatar continues to engage constructively with all parties, maintaining open channels of communication even during times of heightened tension. This approach has enabled Qatar to contribute to mediation efforts both regionally and internationally, reinforcing its role as a trusted partner in conflict prevention, de-escalation, and peacebuilding.
In this context, Doha is hosting meetings between representatives of both sides to continue their dialogue and move forward towards resolving their differences through negotiation and peaceful means, thereby enhancing the prospects for achieving sustainable peace and economic growth at both the regional and international levels.
His Excellency noted that the State of Qatar attaches great importance to strengthening its cooperation with NATO within the framework of the ICI, which was launched in 2004. He indicated that Qatar has consistently supported efforts to enhance practical cooperation with NATO and remains committed to promoting dialogue, building capacities, and contributing to joint initiatives that address mutual security concerns.
HE the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that an agreement had been reached regarding the Individually Tailored Partnership Program (ITPP) between the State of Qatar and NATO.
His Excellency also announced that the final stage of establishing a regional center for peace support operations in the State of Qatar, under the auspices of the NATO, is nearing completion.

Ministry of Foreign Affairs Summons Iran's Deputy Ambassador, Delivers Protest Note Over Targeting of Qatari Tanker Al Rekayyat

The State of Qatar expressed its strong condemnation and denunciation of the targeting of the Qatari tanker Al Rekayyat while it was transiting near the Strait of Hormuz, stressing that this attack amounts to a grave violation of the safety of international navigation, a direct threat to global energy supply security, and a clear and flagrant breach of international law.
This came in the protest note HE Director of the Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Ibrahim bin Yousef Fakhro handed to Deputy Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to the State of Qatar, Mohsen Mohammad Ghanei, during his summoning to the Ministry's headquarters on Tuesday.
The note outlined the State of Qatar's unequivocal rejection of this assault and the threat it poses to the security of international navigation and the stability of the region.
The note demanded that the Islamic Republic of Iran immediately cease any practices that compromise the security of the region and refrain from endangering international shipping and global energy supplies.
The note also affirmed that the State of Qatar reserved all of its rights under international law to take any measures it deemed appropriate to protect its interests and assets. In addition, it called on Iran to provide an urgent explanation for the attack, take immediate steps to prevent its recurrence, and fully comply with the relevant rules of international law.

Qatar, North Macedonia Hold Political Talks

A round of political talks was held on Sunday in Doha between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar and the Republic of North Macedonia.
The Qatari side was headed by HE Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Sultan bin Saad Al Muraikhi, while the Macedonian side was headed by HE Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski.
During the political talks, relations between the two countries and ways to support and develop them were discussed, in addition to a number of issues of common interest.
Following the talks, the two governments signed three agreements: an agreement to establish political consultations between the two foreign ministries, an agreement in the field of diplomatic training and development, and an agreement on the mutual exemption from entry visa requirements for holders of diplomatic, special, and official passports.
The agreements were signed on behalf of the State of Qatar by His Excellency the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, and on behalf of the Macedonian side by His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs.

Qatar Affirms Continued Commitment to Its Efforts in Mediation, Dialogue, and Preventive Diplomacy

The State of Qatar has affirmed continued commitment to its efforts in mediation, dialogue, and preventive diplomacy to bolster peaceful efforts aimed at de-escalation and the preservation of international peace and security.
This came in Qatar's statement delivered by HE Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the United Nations Sheikha Alya Ahmed bin Saif Al-Thani before the UN General Assembly meeting on 'Strengthening the role of mediation in the peaceful settlement of disputes, conflict prevention and resolution', under agenda item 31(b), at the UN Headquarters in New York.
Reiterating Qatar's position that mediation remains one of the most effective tools for settling disputes peacefully, preventing their outbreak, and building sustainable peace, Her Excellency said that mediation constitutes a fundamental pillar of preventive diplomacy and conflict resolution, and that the need to strengthen it is increasing, especially given the growing complexity of conflicts in light of modern technology, at a time when the world is witnessing the highest number of armed conflicts since the founding of the United Nations.
Her Excellency affirmed that the State of Qatar is proud of its longstanding role in mediation, noting that preventive diplomacy, mediation, and the peaceful resolution of conflicts are fundamental pillars of its foreign policy, based on the principles enshrined in its constitution and in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions.
HE the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the UN highlighted the joint mediation efforts undertaken by the State of Qatar, alongside the Arab Republic of Egypt, the United States of America, and the Republic of Turkiye, in reaching the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, which was signed in October of last year, stressing Qatar's emphasis on the necessity for all parties to fulfill their commitments, fully implement the ceasefire agreement, and open the crossings to ensure the sustained and uninterrupted flow of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.
Her Excellency said that Qatar continues its efforts in eastern Congo through the Doha Framework for a Comprehensive Peace Agreement signed on November 15, 2025, while noting Qatar's mediation efforts in Afghanistan, which culminated in the signing of the peace agreement between the United States and the Taliban in Doha in February 2020.
Her Excellency renewed Qatar's appreciation and support for Pakistan's mediation efforts between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran, affirming its full support for mediation efforts aimed at de-escalation, thereby contributing to enhanced security and stability in the region.
