I told a girlfriend I was thinking about texting a man and she chewed me out like a good friend. Then out of no where he texted me. So i texted her "oh my god! conjured him!"
She said
conjured summoned these are words we use for demons. ๐๐
If my daughter was 12 and she got pregnant she absolutely would NOT be having the baby. She would be getting the proper health care she needs because her body is not prepared for her to deliver a child and her life would be at risk if she did.
That health care would be to end the pregnancy which is an abortion. Period.
The things we pretend donโt hurt usually stay with us the longest. We laugh things off say โitโs fineโ change the subject and keep going like nothing happened.
But sometimes itโs not that we donโt care we just donโt know how to explain why something so small meant so much to us.
I used to think having a good life meant having more things more friends more plans and more places to go. Now I think itโs much simpler than that.
Itโs having people you can be completely yourself around enough peace that you donโt dread tomorrow and a quiet moment at the end of the day where you genuinely feel okay with the life youโre living.
One of the funniest things about growing up is how you start getting excited about the most boring things. A good night of sleep cancelled plans food arriving early finding money in an old pocket or someone saying โI already ordered for you.โ
As a kid I wanted adventures now I just want my plans cancelled without having to cancel them myself.
Went on a date && this man roasted me. Instead of complimenting me he said I look like Neapolitan ice cream. I just turned around and left cause wtf. Thatโs the first thing you say when your date arrives.
i was in a relationship for almost 6 years.. we broke up & within a year of his new relationship, he proposed to herโฆ. that shit makes me feel like i wasnโt worth shit.. i wasted years with somebody who knew i wasnโt the one. that shit mentally fucked me up..
he told me later, kind of sheepishly, "it's funny how it means nothing until it's someone you love."
he never mentioned our original conversation. no big announcement, no company-wide email. just fixed it and let it be normal.
one dinner conversation did what my request couldn't. i'm still glad it happened, however it happened.
i asked my manager if we could get a small fridge for the breakroom since half the team brings lunch and there's nowhere to keep it cold. he said the office wasn't a restaurant and people could just buy lunch if they wanted something fresh.
so for weeks people just kept their lunches in insulated bags under their desks. fine, whatever.

walked in on a Monday and there was a full-size fridge in the breakroom, already stocked with ice packs, and a sticky note that just said "should've done this months ago."
turns out his wife had started a new job the week before and came home venting about the exact same thing happening to her.
He apologized, said he didn't want people asking questions or offering sympathy he didn't know how to accept yet. Said it felt easier to just seem private than to explain every single day.
Next team meeting, someone messaged him beforehand: "camera optional always, no explanation ever needed, we're just glad you're here." He turned it on. Just for a few minutes. Said thank you after, for not asking.
A guy on our team stopped turning his camera on for every meeting, even the casual ones. We assumed he just wasn't a "camera person." Nobody said anything. Eventually we stopped expecting it, made jokes about him being a mystery, moved on.
Last month I called him about a deadline and he picked up on video by accident. Behind him was a hospital room, his wife in the bed, a newborn in her arms, tubes still attached from a rough delivery.
Nothing that landed him in surgery, but enough for a cardiologist to use the word "careful" more than once in one appointment. He never told the rest of us. Just adjusted his mornings and let the silence do the explaining.
Last time I saw him, he was sitting on the porch with actual coffee instead of a protein shake, in no rush to be anywhere. Some people change their whole rhythm quietly, and you only find out why once you stop assuming it's nothing.
My uncle stopped going to the gym at 5am every day, something he'd done religiously for almost twenty years. No one really noticed at first he was always private about that stuff, in and out before anyone was awake. But my cousin mentioned it at a family dinner, almost as a joke: "since when does dad sleep in?"
He brushed it off. Said his body just wanted mornings back.
It came out later, quietly, from my aunt: he'd had chest pains back in the winter.
I asked him about it later, carefully. He said the silence after she died was the loudest thing he'd ever heard, and one morning he just poured a second cup without thinking. It made the kitchen feel less empty.
He said he knows she's gone. He just isn't ready for the house to know it too
My grandfather has set two coffee cups out every morning for six years, even though my grandmother passed away six years ago. I never asked. I figured it was just a hard habit to break.
Last Sunday I stayed the night and woke up early. I watched him pour two cups, sit down across from the empty chair, and just... talk. About the weather. About the garden. Ordinary things, like she was still listening .
