@Josivan091 Spot on. Unemployment isn't a handout… it's an insurance fund paid for by earned labor. The fact that an employer can quietly dispute a claim months later to protect their tax rating while you get stuck with the bill is pure corporate protectionism.
The issue isn't paying people upfront during acute hardship….. it’s letting employers file administrative disputes months later without giving workers a hearing before demanding a full clawback under threat of wage garnishment. If the state approves a claim, pays it out, and later changes its mind because an employer contested it after the fact, the state should be required to issue a non-fraud waiver or prove intentional fraud in court—not treat a survival benefit like a predatory line of credit.
Filed for unemployment after a layoff. Got approved. $420 a week for four months while job hunting.
Found a new job. Reported it immediately like you're supposed to.
Eight months later, a letter arrives: the state says my old employer "contested" the claim after the fact, claiming I was let go for cause instead of a layoff.
The review board sided with the employer on a technicality, no hearing, no chance to respond in person.
Total ruled "overpaid": $6,720. Due in 30 days or wages get garnished.
I called and asked how I was supposed to know a four-month-old approved claim could just get reversed with no warning.
The rep said: "The review window stays open for a year. You spent money the state hadn't technically finished deciding you could keep."
So the benefit wasn't a benefit. It was a loan the state could call in anytime within 12 months, with the interest being your paycheck getting garnished without a court date.
They told me I qualified. I spent it living, rent, groceries, gas to get to interviews.
Then quietly reserved the right to take it all back a year later.
Hit the nail on the head. By shifting the burden of proof onto the worker after paying them out, the state creates a phantom debt machine. They get to claim they provided a safety net while quietly using wage garnishments to recoup funds and protect corporate employer tax ratings. It’s pure institutional corruption wrapped in administrative bureaucracy.
I’m cuddling with this girl, just happy with a liar🙄 why tffff her big toenail done scratched my kneecap and it started to burn 😂😂😂😂 I screamed ouuuu rub it you dinosaur toenail ass bitch😆😁🤣IM BOUTA CUT EVERY LAST ONE OFF‼️
a girl on tik tok just said "i would rather adjust my life to your absence, than adjust my boundaries to accommodate your disrespect" and i think that a lot of people need to take that and really engrave it into their soul.
Adulting is overwhelming. Trying to pay bills. While trying to clear debts. While trying to save. While trying to heal. While trying to stay positive. While dodging obstacles life keeps throwing. While trying to live right. While forcing a smile even when it feels impossible.
@fvckfemi_ That’s the best thing to do. Let people be free to be themselves & you be free to move in another direction because you know you deserve better.
Have you ever just wanted to sit down and have a deep conversation with someone who hurt you, not to argue or create more resentment, but to genuinely understand why they would treat you that way, knowing you gave your all to make them feel loved and secure? Like just why?
Fucking your coworker is a major sign of sexual deviancy and indiscipline on the highest level, anybody that partakes in such is a loser filled with a jezebel spirit and should deadass be put on some type of corporate sex offender’s list
i love that feeling when you talk stuff out with someone and you both become aware that neither of you were wrong. you just saw the scenario differently. talking really should be about seeing things from both perspectives, rather than the need to be right.
it’s crazy how u never realize that people serve no purpose in your life until you stop talking to them completely and see how much you don’t miss them or even care that y’all don't talk anymore.
a girl on tiktok said “detachment is crazy because you’ll still care. still remember their birthday. still hope they’re okay. you just stop showing it” and that’s real shit.
when you finally realize that someone’s behavior has more to do with their internal struggle than it ever did with you, you learn grace. you also naturally learn detachment as well.
