Research found that there was also a significant decrease in elephant’s death after China announced a ban on ivory on January 1, 2018. People are afraid because in China poaching elephants for their tusks would get them arrested.

From my perspective, the most effective solution is to get the government involved. Governments have authority. More severe punishments, such as custody and expansive fines, enable less human activities in hurting elephants.

One solution dealing with ivory trade is that all countries need to collaborate with each other in order to close all the markets, even the unregulated ones. Evidence show that the banning of ivory reduced the death of elephants.

Establishing sanctuary can also help support elephants. At the meantime, sanctuaries can call for volunteers to support elephants. I volunteered in a sanctuary once in Sri Lanka, it's so fun to help elephants shower.

Establishing laws could be one solution to saving elephants from circus. For example, The African Elephant Conservation Act, passed in 1988, bans illegal ivory imports and authorizes government funding for elephant field conservation projects.
