I know this seems awful, but ticks, in fact, are edible, and if you swallow them they will be digested and not bite you. Also the pathogens they transmit will be destroyed by your stomach acid.

Not saying I recommend doing this on a regular basis. Like, don't make tick-fried rice or anything.
