No, we don't.
South Africa doesn’t have a patriotism problem.
It has a liberation problem.

Patriotism isn’t blind loyalty to a ruling party. It’s loyalty to a country, its people, and its future. And right now, millions of South Africans are more patriotic than ever they’re just refusing to confuse the ANC with South Africa.

You don’t hate your country because you’re tired of corruption. You don’t lack patriotism because you’re angry about almost a decade of load shedding, crime, broken schools, collapsing hospitals, or stolen futures.

You’re not unpatriotic for demanding competence, accountability, and dignity.

That’s patriotism in its purest form.

Real patriots don’t clap while the house burns down. They grab a bucket, break a door, and shout until someone listens. Real patriots don’t defend a party that treats the state like a feeding trough.

The ANC has spent years blurring the line between the liberation movement and the nation, as if criticizing the party is the same as betraying the country.

That lie is finally collapsing. We're done being gaslit.

Wanting South Africa to work is not treason.
Wanting better leadership is not hatred.
Wanting freedom from a failing political monopoly is not a lack of patriotism.

South Africa doesn’t need fewer patriots.

It needs a government worthy of them. 🫡

Afrikaners are under siege in South Africa. Nationwide our monuments are being vandalized, attacked and even destroyed or removed. Our history is being criminalized in schools, libraries and museums. Our children are being exposed to large-scale racial discrimination and quotas in everything from sports teams to university admissions and bursary schemes. Everything from monuments to nursing homes and Afrikaner NGOs are being defunded by the government. Afrikaners contribute disproportionately to state finances through taxes, but get almost nothing in return. We are constantly being exposed to hate speech and the encouragement to commit violence against our people by extremists, not only in the EFF, but also in the MK and the ANC. Farmers and their families are being attacked, brutally tortured and murdered at a much higher per capita rate than other South African communities.
So stop telling us that Donald Trump is wrong when he exposes the persecution of my people.

This breakdown reflects more than just poor upbringing or social decay; it points to a disturbing lack of cognitive and emotional development among many. What’s even more alarming is how this disrespect has become normalised - almost celebrated in daily life. This behavior has become socially acceptable to treat others with contempt and to live in squalor without shame.
We’ve reached a point where vulgarity, disregard, and apathy are not only tolerated but expected. This normalisation of dysfunction poses a serious threat to any hope of sustainable progress or unity. If respect is not urgently restored as a foundational value, the consequences for the nation’s future is dire.
