A quick look at ‘Kaveri’, India’s most powerful fully indigenous 64-qubit superconducting quantum processor, built by Bengaluru-based @qpiai.
Only 7 countries in the world can design and fabricate a quantum processor like this. Today, India and Karnataka stand in that elite company.
Kaveri is the most powerful quantum chip ever built in India, crossing the critical 50-qubit threshold that scientists globally recognize as the point where quantum systems begin to surpass classical computers in specific problem domains.
Kaveri is a testament to what Bengaluru’s innovation ecosystem can deliver for the nation.
Karnataka is also home to India’s first commercially deployed quantum computer installed at IIIT Dharwad and IIIT-Raichur under the @ITBTGoKs LEAP initiative placing the state at the forefront of India’s quantum computing journey.
Celebrating the spirit of gratitude, togetherness and sacrifice this Bakrid.
Wishing you joy, peace, and endless blessings.🌙✨

One of the key challenges in scaling Quantum Computing is error correction.
Quantum systems are highly sensitive to noise and decoherence, making reliable computation extremely difficult in real-world environments.
At QpiAI, we are addressing this with a high-speed hardware-based error correction, designed to enable real-time quantum error correction (QEC).
Our approach leverages:
• Rotated surface code architecture (distance-5) for robust error detection
• A union-find decoding algorithm optimized for low-latency processing
• Integration with a 64-qubit superconducting Kaveri QPU
• Ultra-fast decoding with <1 microsecond latency, significantly faster than traditional CPU/GPU-based decoders
The system performs multiple rounds of stabilizer measurements and can detect both qubit and measurement errors in real time, ensuring higher reliability during quantum operations.
Additionally, the architecture is designed for parallel decoding, supporting multiple logical qubits simultaneously which is a key requirement for scalable quantum systems.
This advancement enables:
• Reliable quantum computations at scale
• Faster transition from experimental systems to real-world applications
• A clear pathway toward fault-tolerant quantum computing
As the quantum ecosystem evolves, hardware-accelerated error correction will be fundamental to unlocking practical, large-scale quantum advantage.
