Can we start teaching Nigerian children how to measure distance properly?
In the UK, Europe, Canada or US, someone tells you a place is 5km away, and you know exactly what that means.
In Nigeria, our units of measurement are “just here,” “near near,” “small trek,” and the legendary “you will soon reach.”
Nobody knows whether that means 200 metres or 10 kilometres!
A society that struggles to understand distance will struggle with spatial planning, mapping, infrastructure and development.
We just buried an NDC member today whose only 'crime' was supporting Peter Obi. Suddenly, all those who constantly labeled Obidients as toxic have gone completely mute.
For all its sins, Twitter has made me very grateful for the parents I had, the marriage they lived, and the humiliation that their commitment to each other spared us. The things I read here shock me every day. It's just a group of men & women who want to have their cake & eat it.
They were called "home-wreckers" for a reason. Then you folks came with your English and called them "side-chics" Now they think it's a constitutional office with marital perks.
