Sophia King 🎓 (@Qs0f1) currently holds the record for our most tweeted about graduate student. She has been an absolute powerhouse with her work on thermally insulating silica based materials. She is heading to the Bay Area, and we will definitely miss her asking for rides home.
Congrats to @Qs0f1, who was awarded the John Alan Walker Dissertation award! This prestigious award is given in recognition of outstanding research achievements. We are so proud of her, and will miss her so much when she graduates in just a few weeks!!
At that point, I was between undergrad and grad school so having @Lenovo hold my laptop was more of an inconvenience. I can't imagine if my work life was on my computer then, like yours is now! @Lenovo needs better QA. @FTC
I am in grad school and can’t waste 4-6 weeks without a computer, especially in these times. But I’m also not rich enough to just buy another computer (I’m still paying off THIS computer). I feel very stuck.
Buying from @Lenovo is always a hit or miss. I remember them holding my NEW laptop for an entire summer to figure out what was wrong with it. Only for them to figure out that they could not fix it, and give me a new one.
Got a brand new @Lenovo computer Oct 2020 from @BestBuy. From the first week I got it, it would freeze and glitch. Turned into a @lenovoUS authorized tech and glitching and freezing still persisted. Now turned in to Best Buy and they’re estimating 4-6 weeks turnaround time..
In honor of #BlackHistoryMonth, we’d like to amplify the voices of Black scientists. Take a look at this special interview with our trainee Sophia King as she talks about her background and personal experiences! Thank you 🙏🏼@Qs0f1

This month, we’ll be highlighting a few of our excellent Black scientists @ucla! First up, we have @Qs0f1, a 5th year PhD Candidate studying porous sol gel materials and nanoparticle films for better insulating and more energy efficient windows. #BlackinSTEM#WomenInSTEM
New research from JPC C depicts the effect of material homogeneity on the thermal conductivity of optically clear mesoporous silica-titania composites.

Check out my baby! It has cool science and cool pictures (very proud of the microcopy figure especially). DM me if you need a copy (to see the cool pics)!
Check out our newly published work depicting the effect of material
