@SoloWingFury Thanks for playing my game!
The villain is like that, because the one thing I wanted to nail with the story, is that the player likes the heroes and hates the villains. So the player would enjoy seeing the villain getting their comeuppance.
If you haven't played Gearbits: Gear Angels yet, give it a try! It's free, and you can use the save file to unlock new characters in Gearbits. The save file also works on the demo. #Gamedev#Gearbits

The feldspar is probably the most "villainous" unit in the game. The color scheme, along with the sharp and edgy look, gives it a menacing appearance. Still, it's only a machine. A righteous pilot can make it an ally of justice!

The Lanius is one of the most rounded unit in the game. Both in design and gameplay. I have mixed feelings about taking such a different approach. Still, If I were to remake it, I would probably only change the lower leg design.

This one stands out because it's so colorful. I wanted the colors and markings to evoke a race car covered in sponsor decals. A lot of people say this is their favorite. Personally, I like it, but not that much.

Despite having a very distinct leg design, this unit uses the same animation rig as the other units. I feel that the shape successfully communicates that this is a unit for heavy, long-range firepower.

With this one, I tried to go to a new direction. I wanted it to look distinct from the other units. As a result, it's pretty far from my own aesthetic sensibilities. Still, I like some of the details on it.

This one doesn't seem to get a lot of love. Maybe because its stats in the game aren't the best. Still. I kinda like the design. It combines some slick looking Gundam-y aesthetics with the more clunky features and proportions.

This was the first "heavy" unit in the game. It wasn't designed to look as "cool", because my headcanon was that it was a piece of construction equipment retrofitted into a fighting unit. Even so, I think it came out alright.

This is the most basic unit in the game. The GB-01 It was modeled by "gruntifying" the commander unit. It's not as flashy, but it tries its best. You gotta respect the mook units.

This is the GB-01S the very first unit I modeled for the game. I'm quite happy with the actual design, but I learned a lot about 3D modeling since making this, so If I were to remake it, I'd model it differently.

Here's another new unit. The spider tank is a radical departure from the other units, but I still feel like I managed to remain true to the games aesthetics.
Here's one the new units I'm adding for the expansion. I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.
I think that the design really gets across the "fast but flimsy" feel of the machine. The game is on Steam! have a look. https://t.co/j1Cf0OoQHx
