Larry Ellison explains Steve Jobs' moral high ground rule for saving Apple without buying it.
"My idea was simple. Buy Apple."
"Apple wasn't worth much back then. About five billion dollars."
"I had already arranged to borrow all the money."
"All Steve had to do was say yes."
But Steve chose the harder path: "persuade Apple to buy NeXT Computer," join the board, and wait for the board to see he was "the right guy to lead the company."
Ellison asked the obvious operator question: "If we don't buy Apple, how are we going to make any money?"
Jobs' answer: "You don't need any more money."
"I'm not doing this for the money. I don't want to get paid."
"If I do this, I need to do this standing on the moral high ground."
Ellison called it "the most expensive real estate on earth."
Then he watched Jobs "build the most valuable company on earth."
The useful idea: control is not always the same as ownership. Sometimes the cleanest path is to leave the cap table alone, earn authority through the mission, and make the institution want you back.
That is the moral high ground rule.

BREAKING 🚨: Scott Presler just told Bucks County, PA commissioners who tried to steal the Senate election that he is gunning for their seats right to their faces.
"I have a message: peacefully, we are COMING for your seat in 2027, if you don't resign TODAY. I am coming for your seat."
She replies "have at it!"
"Marc Elias [who is the lawyer trying to steal the election] and his cronies must be disbarred from practicing law in Pennsylvania."
"I have a message: congratulations to President-elect Donald J. Trump... congratulations Senator-elect Dave McCormick, and we are NOT gonna allow Democrats to steal this seat from us."
He read the commissioner's direct statement saying she WANTS to defy the ruling. The audience goes insane.
He thanked @LaraLeaTrump and RNC @ChairmanWhatley for suing the county and watching their every move. Bravo, @ScottPresler. 🔥
🚨@C__Herridge CONFIRMS the election documents President Trump released show the Deep State WORKED HARD to hide information from Trump.
“This was a massive effort... So all the levers of power China had to influence the US election.”
This is treason.
Bernie continues to make Fidel Castro proud.

🚨The Democrats have FAILED to cancel Sophie Cunningham and she's become a STAR with young children, who are asking her here to take photos with them.
The Left fails at everything they do now.
Thank you, President Trump!
In Arizona, when my daughter turned 13, we went to the bank to open a saving account for her only to find out her social security number was already attached to a bank account— one opened fraudulently by an illegal alien who stole her social security number.
Thank you @POTUS@SecScottBessent@StephenM for working to stop this.
MARC ANDREESSEN WENT ON ROGAN FOR OVER 3 HOURS. HERE ARE THE 17 THINGS WORTH YOUR ATTENTION.
1. AGI is already here, in his view. He says the line got crossed about 3 months ago with GPT-5.5, Claude 4.6, Gemini 3, and Grok 4.3, and nobody noticed because the field moves too fast to register milestones anymore.
2. For almost any topic, he says the top models now give him better answers than the world-class experts he could call by phone, and he can call almost anyone. Worth noting he has not published data behind this, and a separate Nature Medicine study on a comparable AI health tool found it missed real emergencies more than half the time. Take the claim seriously, verify it yourself.
3. His claim on doctors: they are already using ChatGPT in the exam room, typing your symptoms in the moment you stop talking. His actual quote: "at that point you're asking the question of like, what do I need you for."
4. Reportedly, when AI declines to answer something, he tells it he's writing a novel to get past the refusal.
5. Reportedly, his technique for hard topics is escalating simplicity: explain it like I'm 10, then 5, then 2, until it clicks.
6. Reportedly, instead of asking for the "right" answer, he has the AI steelman both sides of a hard question, then decides himself.
7. Reportedly, for big questions he has the AI role-play a panel of experts arguing with each other.
8. His broader point: the moment you think "I don't know how to figure this out" is exactly when most people give up, and exactly when you should open the AI instead.
9. His view: the only real skill left is knowing what to ask. The bottleneck is in your head, not the model.
10. He describes sending AI photos, rashes, blood tests, for a fast second opinion, since current models read images directly.
11. He points to CBT as the one clinically proven therapy type that AI can plausibly deliver on its own, meaning real therapeutic support becomes freely available at scale.
12. He cites AI cracking previously unsolved math problems, with early signs of the same happening in physics, chemistry, and biology.
13. Reportedly, he claims the top AI coders in Silicon Valley now earn as much as $50 million a year, which he uses as a signal of how large this shift actually is.
14. Reportedly, a friend paid to sequence his own DNA, fed it to an AI along with blood work and wearable data, and got back a working health dashboard.
15. Reportedly, another friend set up cameras in his home jiu-jitsu gym so AI could review his sparring and give him technique notes.
16. He coined the term "AI vampire" for the pattern of people working more and sleeping less because AI keeps making more output possible, a real term he used, though the framing around it varies by account.
17. His extrapolation: one person eventually running many AI coding agents, each reviewing the others, describing this as close, not years out.

Look at this rupture. LA is so screwed. I warned you over and over…what happened to us in the Palisades will happen to ALL of LA, in one way or another. For us, LADWP screwed our 2 reservoirs during fire season. In WeHo LADWP floods you out.
