@wjcarter I remain convinced that behind closed doors and in private circles, he knows he lost the election. But he has to keep up this act for his cult of supporters because otherwise he would need to admit to them it was all a lie and he knew this entire time
@ProjectLincoln Example number 3,627,845 of Trump doing something that if Biden did the exact same thing, MAGA would be losing their minds that he's not fit to be president
Here’s your complete holiday season football schedule.
Any reform to the CFP schedule involves giving up something important to stakeholders: Army-Navy’s standalone window, games free from NFL, 10 days rest between playoff rounds, the Rose Bowl on NYD. Something has to give.
@PimpinVanSmack@AndyGlockner Agree with you on almost all of that. Unless some folks are going to scrub their social media history, I'm sure the signs will be there who they supported, even though they'll do their best to deny it.
@Braylon_Breeze This is the yin and yang of moving from a broadcast net to a cable net. Not as much reach, but they're not as constrained by other programming in the morning, so they can treat it more like ESPN does with Wimbledon where it's all over multiple networks
@mdrn_cnservativ@Acyn That's not "dozed off for a second" and you know that. And if that was Biden, there is a 100% chance that MAGA would be involved in all sorts of theatrics. You can't look at Biden and think "Sleepy Joe" and then look at this like it's normal
@JimmyTraina Last time the Knicks were in the finals, NBC still had the TV rights. That's how long it has been. Looking forward to having this crew in NYC next week
@PuckNews@Ourand_Puck Remind us where the last World Cup was, speaking of scandals. Don't think we should be surprised about it happening here with this organization
The NYPD ban on Knicks watch parties directly outside Madison Square Garden has been lifted for tonight, per SNY sources. The NYPD had previously banned watch parties in Plaza 33 during the ECF. But they’ve reversed the decision for Game 1 on Wednesday night. An MSG spokesperson confirmed that the Garden has applied for permits to host the Plaza 33 party tonight and those permits have been granted. The permit is solely for tonight’s Game 1. Status for future watch parties is TBD. The NYPD previously banned the watch parties outside MSG during the ECF against the Cavaliers for being too rowdy.
@BillEbere@NBA@ESPNNBA@NBAonNBC That's not how contracts work. NBC can get a shot in the next set of TV deals, but they're locked in for the duration of this deal
@TylerBakerLLC@MikeNellis Is Biden the president of the United States right now? Trump has 2.5 years to go and the fact that MAGA continues to bring up Biden probably means you know Trump's brain is turning to mush but you don't want to acknowledge it. The man is not fit to run this country
New statement from Scott Pelley:
There has never been anything in America like 60 Minutes.
The Sunday tradition is the most successful program of any kind in history. For more than a decade, its innovative growth on every major online platform has extended its reach to countless millions around the world. This spring, at the end of our 58thseason, 60 Minutes grew rapidly with an unheard-of 9% jump in viewers on CBS.
“60” has been the number-one program in America for decades because our beloved audience finds integrity, quality, and humanity in our stories. When stewardship of the program passed to my colleagues and me, our responsibility was to expand energetically into a new age of media technology while preserving the values our audience expects. Now, the new owner of our network is casting this legend aside, apparently to curry a moment of favor with the Trump administration.
The waste is heartbreaking.
Last month, 60 Minutes lost its DNA when our entire senior leadership and two of our best on-air correspondents were cruelly fired without cause. Good people were silenced because they stood up for our audience. They stood for fairness against the forces of political bias; they stood for professionalism against chaos.
For my part, new management has instructed me to inject falsehoods and bias into a politically sensitive story. I’ve been told to include assertions that are unverified. To date, in every case, I have managed to ignore these instructions or refuse them. Recently, politicians have been invited to choose correspondents for interviews on the broadcast. Giving politicians control over 60 Minutes interviews is not how this is done. Finally, incompetence and unprofessionalism in the new management have wreaked havoc. In a case involving one of my stories, the entire program came within 19 minutes of not getting on the air at all.
At 60 Minutes, we have fought harder than anyone knows to save the program that became an American icon. We owed that to our millions of viewers. I am deeply moved by the thousands of wishes we have received to “keep up the good fight.” Most of the men and women of CBS News are still in that fight. But now the collapse of values at the top has become untenable. The leadership of 60 Minutes is no longer recognizable. The principles I hold dear are gone, and so I must leave as well.
I depart after 37 years at CBS with one emotion—a heart brimming with gratitude for the men and women of CBS News who encouraged and enriched my work, very often at the risk of their own lives. I pray for a day when those people and their ideals are honored again—a day when sanity, competence, and courage return.

@BREBetting@JimmyTraina And it all happened in essentially the pre-internet era, so the audience wasn't as familiar with the story. I agree, it was a very well put together movie
CBS Sports says Saturday’s UEFA Champions League Final between PSG and Arsenal was the most-watched club soccer match in US English-Language TV history:
Averaged 3.087 million viewers on CBS. Peaked at 3.93M during PKs.
@JPSpartan@awfulannouncing And yes, the NFL can do what it wants. We've had games at 1pm and 4pm (now 4:05/4:25) longer than a lot of people have been alive and we haven't had other start times since a lot of games were blacked out from TV. The networks aren't going to go back to that
@JPSpartan@awfulannouncing https://t.co/Ltd3r7563k
Last week of the regular season last year. All the big games are at Noon or in the 3pm or 7pm hour. The rest are FCS playoffs and other small conference FBS games. Most people aren't watching those 1pm or 2pm games
