@Tesla Model Y and Cybertruck owner. One time phantom breaking is one too many. Cybertruck in FSD drives on the line consistently and never centered in lane. I actively avoid FSD now as it is not pleasant. Disappointed autopilot is not on Cybertruck. FSD profit over safety for free.
This is not a good deal for U.S. taxpayers. SpaceX's Starlink could provide fast and reliable internet to millions for a fraction of the cost, and years earlier than the $42.5B plan listed below.
Just has a really interesting conversation with a co-worker. He said “I read somewhere that not all electric cars have the same plug!”
I started laughing and said “yeahhh I’ve been crying about this for 10 years.”
He told me how he thought that was so stupid and how are people suppose to know this? He also told me how he read that the driver almost got stranded because he want to 2-3 chargers that were the incorrect plug and could not charge.
I told him that:
1. Everyone is switching to Tesla’s plug so this issue will go away but
2. Rental companies and even sales people don’t do a good job at explaining this to the general public.
Thankfully, due to NACS adoption, this issue will be an issue of the past in a few years, but he is right. It is very stupid that there is no standardization of plugs.
Here is a table that shows actual deliveries in 2023:
• 422,875 in Q1 2023
• 466,140 in Q2 2023
• 435,059 in Q3 2023
• 484,507 in Q4 2023
This quarter is expected to be below both Q4 2023 and Q2 2023. It's not looking good.
