The pressure on the House Ethics Committee can’t be overstated?... clearly it can be... Existential? kinda like little boys trying to put on big-boy pants....
Canadian healthcare is a tragic mess; too much geography with extreme population distribution in a country system that prevents the ability to supply sufficient personel or facility
There is only one biable solution... terminate the current Canada Healyh Act
@MedicineMatters Maybe you put too much confidence in what and who you think are "medical/science experts". Having a MD or PhD is not a guarantee for knowledge or expertise or quality or competence.
@MedicineMatters COVID has highlighted and underscored the many weaknesses of our frail and obsolescent healthcare system. It is time those of political will to demand change.

I am very sad to hear that David F. Hardwick MD, FRCPC, FCAP has died. An internationally recognized paediatric pathologist, Hardwick was involved with The University of British Columbia for more than sixty years as both a student and professor. I will miss him dearly.
@MedicineMatters I'm pretty happy with our weekly report, although I have a different quibble re "hospitalizations". Too loaded and too biased. Personally would like to seej "Hospitalization-2 days or less" and "Hospitalizations-3days or more"
@FrankLuntz@AlexBerenson Anyone who listens to Dr Frank Luntz as an authority on anything but gathering opinions on words needs to find a better source for their information.
@MedicineMatters HCW infections are interesting
How about:
1. Range & median days of hospitalization (not just number of admissions)
2 . % people dying in LTC or home versus dying in
hospital
3. Number of people with adverse effects with vaccine (and types of adverse effects).
@MedicineMatters "Fixated" is anthropomorphizing.
Viruses are. That they attach to us, or we to them, is mostly about chance and our cell membrane configuration.
@MedicineMatters @adriandix Put in perspective over essentially a year in a province of 5 million people there are about 400 deaths of whom 3/4 are over the age of 70. For another 1000 there was a few days in hospital, and the remaining 30,000 had somewhere between a mild to bad cold.
You gotta wonder...
