Dabo Swinney always been a real one & always will be… none of this is a surprise.
Say what you will about the man, but if anyone is going to stand ten toes down for the betterment of college football, it’s the #Clemson HC.
When it comes to Duke QB-
I can be just as effective, have a great legacy, be personable, love the people around me and give back without being stuck at one institution. If I had the opportunity to take more money and know without a shout of a doubt I will be able to put myself and my family in a much better Position for years to come I’m taking it.
I was raised to love God and Love People. Signing a bigger contract to do exactly (to me) that is more important than what people “think” of my legacy vs what I actually was able to do with it.
I don’t think what he did is immoral. It’s taking an opportunity knowing you will
Make people upset.
Respect you a ton! But I gotta disagree
I feel like you are taking it out of context.
“The assumption is that if you played for Dabo, you automatically can’t coach”
That’s not the assumption- the issue is that Dabo constantly hires previous players and we don’t ever see anything come from it. It’s just filling a role with a familiar face instead of getting coaches who have proven experience that you know will bring a certain dynamic to the team. The last thing Clemson needs is more coaches who are being added with no knowledge of how they will actually help the team/staff. That’s my take from a mere fans perspective. You can’t convince me there are not coaches out there who can day one fill these roles and get more out of players/coaches than who he’s brought in. Thats the real issue.
