Not sure we could offer a performance guarantee stronger than the data. For players looking for better contact quality who might be too flat (either VBA / AA or both), it's a significant opportunity.
Just got re-order from MLB org that is obviously looking at the same data
@hanaleibaay The ball placement relative to the body is (or should be) no different between the two but it does depend where a hitter stands in the box
@JonbaseBall Contact quality is better even up in the zone for steeper swingers. The reason why steepness works doesn't change. They do swing and miss more but net/net, wRC+ goes up a lot as steepness increases
This research suggests that adding more VBA and AA (unless you are already maxed out) will almost certainly improve your contact quality.
If you are 'flat', your odds of good CQ (independent of CQ) are virtually *zero*
New research out today..
Can flat hitters (VBA and AA) have good contact quality (independent of EV)?
No, the odds of a flat hitter having elite (top quartile) contact quality are *close to zero*

Another MLB org just placed an order for the Quant Tee. About half of MLB teams have them
They are buying because of the data. For top quartile VBA and AA, hitters have a 92% chance of above avg contact quality (independent of EV)
..it's a 'data guarantee' for contact quality
Young @HobgoodJohnny of @DecaturBasebal1 getting swings off the @QuantTee on New Year’s Eve - down & away, down & in.
Need to prove to @PBRMaryland’s @ledggerrr that he is more than just spin rate & IVB.
40% of MLB orgs have purchased QTs..
..but of the division leaders, it's 5 out of 6
The data on swing path that is driving their decisions is coming to the broad market soon (which we've been putting out for a long time)
If you think you are going to get consistent LAs w/ flat VBA, you might want to reconsider..
In our opinion, this is why the QT is (probably) the best selling "specialty tee" in professional baseball
Guy needs a QT
..data out soon on MLB VBA - but looks like he just keeps getting flatter and flatter
@swinggraphs picked up on the change...when he was still raking in mid 2021
J. Soto is best decision maker in baseball..but his contact quality is below expected due to his bad-hit %
..his bad-hit% is high b/c of low AA and VBA
..so hitters looking for improved CQ should focus on path, not decisions
..looks like he could sure use a Quant Tee 😜
@patricktehan There is a limit to how flat a player can be up in the zone if they want more VBA on lower pitches - there is only enough time to flatten by about 13 deg. for high pitches
VBA very different regardless of height
VBA has strong link to CQ & IFFBs - regardless of swing decisions
..and not just the pedestrian batted ball data - we're talking full 3D, in game, complete biomechanical and bat tracking data - that most of us would love to get our hands on!
An MLB org just placed a order for several more QTs..
Why? - They have the data showing the value of swing path/VBA - and the link to performance
So if you want tees for spring training, it's right around the corner..
What MLB player do we think could be a consistent Top 15 hitter by increasing VBA & Attack Angle?...
..He has excellent power, great plate discipline and his bat-to-ball skills are *top 10* in MLB (based on data from @Swinggraphs)
..Alejandro Kirk
It's just a matter of time before there is more direct focus on swing path & VBA.
...and it's not as if no MLB teams and players are directly focusing on it..
..10 MLB orgs have purchased Quant Tees as well as some big names individually.
So it's just a when (not if) thing..
@fredlanders101 He seems to have made changes every year - something to keep in mind - that he might be a 'serial' swing tinkerer.
But - I would agree that most player changes in VBA are not a result of conscious focus there...so either subconscious or the result of another intentional change.
Very excited to share a 1st gen/rough prototype of the Quant Tee-Robo. Fully automated and customizable.
-All 3 angles of swing path (VBA, Explicit Loft, HBA)
-Optimal contact points for each location
..train to optimal targets, specific MLB hitters, or custom, for all metrics
