How fun it is to see people who've given Quantified Self Talks showing up to support the Pre-Order Campaign! Here's one of Azure Grant's many path-breaking projects. https://t.co/HZ44IubMhV
@agaricus's new book! Preorder it. Most of us muddle along to figure out what works in life. Gary showed me that the tools of science and art can be used by everyday folk to prove what works in life. It's a fascinating story and guide. https://t.co/EMxnGpGe4g
I saw Jon Cousins' post supporting the community pre-order campaign for the Quantified Self book, it reminded me of this fascinating and unique talk he gave at a QS meetup years ago at San Francisco's Exploratorium. https://t.co/CKquDrmXSb
Gary Wolf and Kevin Kelly founded Quantified Self — a community built around the idea of “self-knowledge through numbers.” QS, Gary and Kevin have all had a huge impact on my life. Gary, for example, wrote about me and Moodscope in the New York Times 16 years ago.
So I’m delighted that Gary has a new book coming out this October: The Quantified Self: Learning to Observe.

If anyone knows the ins and outs of understanding yourself through self-tracking, it’s Gary. I’ve just pre-ordered my copy. I’d encourage you to do the same. @quantifiedself@WorkmanPub
Episode 2 of the Quantified Self Podcast: "Epistemic Agency." With Sara Riggare, Steven Jonas, Thomas Blomseth Christiansen, and Jakob Eg Larsen. https://t.co/sn7WuDpCpH
Is Quantified Self still active?
Yes — we’re back with a newly revived website and archive and a new Substack newsletter, Learning to Observe. Personal experiments, useful methods, and new work from the QS community:

@DrSianAllen UTC timestamps with time zone offsets. There is no way to overemphasize how important this is, and if you look at how things are currently done you will be appalled.

Anybody know why CGMs like @FreeStyleLibre require medical supervision? Are they in some way dangerous? Also, is "medical supervision" provided by 3rd parties even real? Is this just a commercial thing, extracting value from healthcare, or is there some legit purpose?
