@legen_eth When Elon says 10, you can safely assume that it in common folks age and time, it means around a 100 years. Ask $tsla investors, we know the best about Elon’s timescales.
350,000 is just the federal employees, 5x more federal contractors and 5x more support staff lost their jobs. The cascading effect is happening as we speak and it will impact the rest of the country in the next few months. Everyone in DC, VA, or MD knows someone who lost their job.
Let me ask you this, has your life changed in anyway since the doge cuts? For better or worse? If yes, please let me know how. The people I see and am talking about have their lives in doldrums. Not just federal employees, but contractors, millions of support staff, their families.
@VulcanVixen1@bdogleague@SawyerMerritt Are you telling me most of the 340,000 average American workers in the DC, VA, MD area were committing fraud? I have a bridge to sell you. Please stick to topics you are fully aware of.
@blck_lst@wP_Byrne@grok@carl_groover@defmetal@SawyerMerritt The 215 billion is a blip compared to the damage caused. It will take years to correct it. Right now most agencies are in a state of limbo.. dazed like a deer caught in the headlights. It’s a reset - with no clear direction.
@blck_lst@wP_Byrne@grok@carl_groover@defmetal@SawyerMerritt Not really.. like I mentioned, it will take a few months for the ripple effects to be felt outside the DC metropolitan area but it will. Several business lost revenue, several families out of a job and displaced, several business shut down. A whole ecosystem almost collapsed.
@stanbaugh@SawyerMerritt It is a good thing when you carefully cull after determining the needs and the goals of the agency. Not a good thing when you cull indiscriminately. Many are being hired back coz they realized they fucked up. It all turned out to be for nothing- displaced thousands of families.
@wP_Byrne@grok@carl_groover@defmetal@SawyerMerritt It says the deficit has not decreased due to Doge and the debt has increased by about 7.6%. I am not sure if that’s called being fried in the context of the argument, but hey if it makes you happy..
@UtahSteve0@SawyerMerritt He also found out that you don’t run the federal government like a tech company. You don’t just have employees, you have an entire ecosystem as employees, tons of businesses, millions of people involved. You can’t go into something you don’t comprehend fully with a tunnel vision.
@defmetal@SawyerMerritt The deficit has increased by 6% since Doge. Doge was a hogwash. The ripple effect it has caused will eventually reach beyond the DC Metro area, and it may take years to salvage the damage.
@matthughes13 I’ve invested in it since 2019 with a sizable position and I have also traded a big chunk in and out of it playing the levels. First time in a long time I am not excited about both.
@matthughes13 It’s been hard to hold with Elon never sticking to timelines. The earning calls have been increasingly difficult to listen into each time. Always pushing the schedules and it is getting tiresome for long term investors. SpaceX and the merger rumors isn’t helping either.
