Yesterday marked the grand opening of the UK's National Quantum Computing Centre! We welcomed Lord Vallance and many other stakeholders and collaborators across the UK quantum ecosystem 🎉
It was a great opportunity to showcase the breadth of the NQCC's programme and our work!
We are delighted to announce that the NQCC's facility has been inaugurated this morning by the Minister of Science, Research and Innovation, Lord Vallance

I can't quite believe that the UK Quantum Hackathon is next week! Last year's event was incredible and I can't wait to see the learning and innovation that goes on this year 🧑💻
Really excited that we now have an X account at the NQCC! Watch this space for updates and info from the UK's National Laboratory for Quantum Computing ⚛️
As a quantum-focused educator, science communicator, and public engagement practitioner I am so excited to see what next year brings as part of the Year of Quantum which the UN recently announced! https://t.co/KeglHmcbsB
Are you a master’s student, doctoral student, or early career researcher interested in quantum computing?

It was great to exhibit @Oxford_IF events earlier this week!
Despite being an intimidating subject, we think that everyone can understand the basics and impact of quantum computing ⚛️💻
I'm so proud of our awesome volunteers for their hard work at our recent outreach events!
Yesterday was our first time exhibiting at New Scientist Live! As always, it was great to get out there to do some science communication and represent the NQCC ⚛️ Special thanks to my fantastic outreach volunteers and our intern Alex who did our initial stand design!
It's 1 year since I started in my outreach and engagement job! Pivoting away from academic physics research into an education and science communication role was a great decision for me and I feel so much more fulfilled in my work 😊
If you have a passion for quantum and science communication, then this is a fantastic opportunity to develop your skills and work with the lovely NQCC team!

📣 Student placement opportunity!
We're hiring an industrial placement student to work with me on the NQCC's public engagement activities. This is a 12-month placement starting in June 2024 and is ideal for UK students doing a placement year as part of their undergraduate degree.
@DisabledStem Love a good roll call! 👋 Daisy, AuDHD etc. quantum science communicator, writer and educator. Ex-PhD student (I didn't make it to the end) - now working in public engagement combining my technical background with a love of teaching in informal learning spaces ⚛️
The NQCC stand is all ready to go for @DaresburyLab open day! Come along to find us in the Hartree Centre if you want to learn about quantum computing ⚛️
