@smerconish Independent. The primary system is how we got stuck with Trump. In the 2016 election primaries, he was getting only around a third of votes and a lot of criticism, but the rest of the votes were split over 16 better choices. Return to party leaders selecting candidates?
@smerconish@CNN@cnni@NinaTotenberg Congressional districts should be drawn based solely on population data without knowledge of race or party affiliation. Maybe your AI idea could accomplish that.
@smerconish In 2016 before I had decided who I would vote for, I saw news coverage of a Trump rally. The hate he spewed and stoked in his audience just made me think "this must be how Hitler gained support in Germany". Do we have to wait until he kills millions to raise the alarm?
@smerconish Comey reopened a closed investigation and it amounted to nothing but a loss for Hillary. The investigation into Trump started before he announced and never stopped. Not the same thing.
Will the election end with a smooth and peaceful transition of power? https://t.co/TaMFPqFfcf It depends on who is declared the winner. If Kamala is declared the winner, Trump will lie and incite more violence. Fortunately, he no longer is in the White House ...
@RealVinnieJames @harris_wins 5) We recovered better from Covid than most other industrialized nations. Who do you think deserves credit for that success? Not your cult leader, he was out of office by then.
BTW: I was a Republican for 40 years until it became a cult, I wasn't willing to drink that Kool-Aid
@RealVinnieJames @harris_wins 3) Gas prices were low at the end of Trump's term due to Covid because few people were driving anywhere. Remember "Supply and Demand"? Now there is a lot more demand.
4) We are supposedly producing more fossil fuel than during Trump's term despite his lies.
@RealVinnieJames @harris_wins 1) Trump never gives a detailed plan, just lies about what he will accomplish (remember how he was going to replace Obamacare with a better and cheaper plan, but he never really had a concrete plan?).
2) Inflation was due to Trump's bungling Covid and the necessary response.
@astronomy89@GeorgeTakei To the face? And did you not see the video? He did duck and cower and hide until Secret Service gave the all clear. Anyone would duck and cower under those circumstances, but don't lie about his behavior to falsely glorify him.
@AOC It's funny how the GOP pretends to be the party for the working man, but they try to insult AOC by bringing up her past job as a bartender. And their cult leader calls the Dems "the elites" via tweet while sitting on his gold toilet.
@gtconway3d In all fairness, he asked if it was an option rather than saying to do it, but that still requires a deep level of stupidity. And you would think that he would ask that question prior to a press conference, not during it. Then again, maybe he did and just couldn't let it go.
@thefuturebyJC@kylegriffin1 As someone who was a registered Republican for 40 years, I say it's better to be a traitor to the Republican party than to the United States of America. Country should come before party no matter what party you belong to.
@gtconway3d The sad thing is his cult members can't look at this objectively and instead reflexively attack you for raising these serious concerns. They actually believe he stands for them instead of just himself.
@MAGAMichelleS69@AOC@RepGolden Every right has its limits. You can't have your own RPG's, armed Apache helicopter, or nuclear weapon for your self-defense. There is a line, the debate is where that line should be drawn.
@RitzReport@ruthbenghiat How quickly you forget that Trump was going to pull out of Afghanistan at an even earlier date, Trump directed the fast-tracking of the vaccine and implied that people might be forced to take it (and nobody was vaccinated against their will under Biden), and Saudi $ to his fam.
@realTuckFrumper Even if charges of insurrection aren't pursued against him, wouldn't promising to pardon all of those convicted for January 6th if he is re-elected be considered "giving aid or comfort"?
@markismsb@GeorgeTakei Are all Republicans? Trump, Gaetz, Judge Roy Moore, Hastert, David Byrd, Warren Jess, etc. Plus those like Jim Jordan, who looked the other way while abuse was taking place.
@petestrzok I disagree with the Supreme Court's decision that lying is protected speech, especially when those lies threaten the peace and our democracy, and may influence the outcome of an election. Set up a special nonpartisan court to quickly decide when speech crosses the line if needed
