How to Transfer Mainnet QKC to MetaMask

We've published a step-by-step guide on how to add QuarkChain Mainnet to MetaMask, find your receiving address, and transfer your QKC.

The guide includes instructions for both mobile and desktop users.

⚠️ Important: Make sure to select QuarkChain Mainnet (not ERC-20) when transferring your QKC. We also recommend sending a small test transaction first.

Less conspicuous holdings could therefore appeal to attackers—but that does not prove smaller holders face greater risk.

“Satoshi’s shield” is an incentive hypothesis, not a security guarantee.

Public-key exposure deserves attention. Preparation should stay measured.

Bunker Mode: Beyond “Satoshi’s Shield”

@drakefjustin has called for the industry to prepare for “bunker mode”: carefully moving assets to fresh addresses whose public keys remain hidden behind a hash.

Why now—and what does it tell us? 🧵

[QuarkChain @Quark_Chain]

@drakefjustin 6/7
Our second observation: “Satoshi’s shield” depends on attacker incentives.

Drake suggests exposed 50-BTC outputs attributed to Satoshi could draw attacks before smaller holdings. But their visibility could also make discreet theft and cashing out harder.

But address type matters: Bitcoin’s P2PK and Taproot outputs expose public keys directly.

Fresh addresses alone do not guarantee protection. Hiding keys may buy time under certain attacks; it does not replace quantum-resistant signatures.

[QuarkChain @Quark_Chain]

@drakefjustin 4/7
Our first observation: this resembles familiar Bitcoin wallet behavior.

Many wallets send change to fresh addresses. With public-key-hash outputs, keys remain hidden until spending. Ethereum EOAs typically reuse the same key, exposed after a public transaction.

[QuarkChain @Quark_Chain]

@drakefjustin 3/7
His proposed precaution: use fresh addresses with hidden public keys, then move remaining assets once signing exposes the key.

He stresses controlled preparation. Rushed migrations can cause greater losses. Compatible wallets already support this approach.

Drake’s concern: AI-driven mathematical advances could enable a classical attack on ECDSA before quantum computers do.

His worst-case timeline is months, not years. This is a risk scenario—not evidence that ECDSA has been broken.
