@RightSide_Uk "Trump refuses to tolerate dictators and censorship."
And yet he tolerates the dictators Putin, Kim Jong Un, and Xi, who are all guilty of censorship and free speech abuses...as does Trump.
@gaz_EOD@JohnHealey_MP@Keir_Starmer I could have forgiven @Kier_Stammer for increasing debt, higher tax or reduced welfare spending.
History will damn this him.
When war with Russian breaks out the current and last Government and their kids should be sent to front line.
Starmer and Reeves must resign
No fan of @JohnHealey_MP , but fair play to him for standing by his morals and beliefs over this. Gone up in my estimation .. @Keir_Starmer knows what’s needed but hasn’t the stones to deliver it . This country’s armed forces will still continue to be woefully underfunded despite all the blustering Starmer gives to our allies .. weak as fuck .
I need to correct you on several points, this is not to say I disagree with your overall point, I do not!
1) The £28 was not to make up some shortfall, it was to start the process of getting the MOD up to standard, it would take much more than that to fix UK defence.
2) The intelligence services are now to be bundled into the defence budget they will take up around £4.5 billion a year of MOD Budget.
3) To just keep up with inflation it is estimated that the MOD would need around £6 to £7 billion a year to just maintain what they need.
4) There is zero need to reduce social services spending unless you want more homeless more people on the streets or you want to start looking like America!
1% on income will bring in around £11 billion a year 1% on income tax is around £250 a year for someone on £35,000 a year. We can increases taxes much more and we should!
5) It is a fallacy that reducing taxes increases investment, the evidence is to the contrary! decreasing taxes as seen in the USA increases the rentier society.
6) The laffer curve as presented by him on his napkin is a complete myth.. See any graph of the UK when we paid more tax.
7) The UK's way out of this mess is to tax the seriously wealthy more and to tax business more!
8) The UK's reliance on so-called consultancies has led us to the rock bottom position we are now in..
9) Defence spending should never go below 3%
10) Defence is an insurance policy, if you fudge on insurance it will not pay out when you need it most!
I have included a graph of defence spending and overlaid how income tax has changed over the same period of time. I am sure there is no link🤦♂️🤦♂️
Defence costs we need to get over it.
It provides jobs and skills to many that go on to become high earners.
It also has a hugely beneficial impact on society of 650,000 more people that would be passing on beneficial standards as well as discipline to families now
This man's name is Jimmy Corry.
The home he had lived in for 13 years in Belfast was destroyed in an arson attack carried out by the far right. Corry lost all of his belongings along with his home.
Despite having done nothing wrong, he became a target of racists.
