If you want to know what a president looks like. Look no further. President Biden without fanfare quietly paid his respects to Melissa Hortman, her husband Mark, and their dog Gilbert. Trump couldn't be bothered. #DemsUnited
Said goodbye to my best ever sheepdog
She had a great working life and then retirement but I’m still broken hearted
Floss
I’d like to think she has gone where my dad went and they can get a hell of a lot of sheep work done. And with some style.
RIP Floss
You beautiful dog
Newsflash for Trump: you don't just get to pull polling numbers out of thin air.
Your policies are hurting our country, and you don't get to make yourself feel better with fake statistics while Americans suffer.
We are in this mess because of you – own it.
This is Melissa Hortman, on June 14, 2025 she & her husband John were murdered in a politically motived attack. She stood for environment rights, abortion rights & sensible gun control policies.
No lowered flags!
Can we take a moment to remember her good works.
Please RT.
@atensnut This wasn't just a one off... They're really very good
Based in San Fransisco for those wondering. Here they perform Supertramp's, Logical Song
After seeing the photograph of Cormac McCarthy's living room (containing around 1000 books, 5% of his total personal library), I'm reminded of what Umberto Eco once said:
"It is foolish to think that you have to read all the books you buy, as it is foolish to criticize those who buy more books than they will ever be able to read. It would be like saying that you should use all the cutlery or glasses or screwdrivers or drill bits you bought before buying new ones.
There are things in life that we need to always have plenty of supplies, even if we will only use a small portion.
If, for example, we consider books as medicine, we understand that it is good to have many at home rather than a few: when you want to feel better, then you go to the 'medicine closet' and choose a book. Not a random one, but the right book for that moment. That's why you should always have a nutrition choice!
Those who buy only one book, read only that one and then get rid of it. They simply apply the consumer mentality to books, that is, they consider them a consumer product, a good. Those who love books know that a book is anything but a commodity."

When the Titanic sank, it carried millionaire John Jacob Astor IV. The money in his bank account was enough to build 30 Titanics. However, faced with mortal danger, he chose what he deemed morally right and gave up his spot in a lifeboat to save two frightened children.
Millionaire Isidor Straus, co-owner of the largest American chain of department stores, "Macy's," who was also on the Titanic, said:
"I will never enter a lifeboat before other men."
His wife, Ida Straus, also refused to board the lifeboat, giving her spot to her newly appointed maid, Ellen Bird. She decided to spend her last moments of life with her husband.
These wealthy individuals preferred to part with their wealth, and even their lives, rather than compromise their moral principles. Their choice in favor of moral values highlighted the brilliance of human civilization and human nature.
This should be getting far more attention from the media, and it should be investigated as a hate crime.
A 14-year-old Black teen was targeted, beaten, and dehumanized with racial slurs by white teens while people stood around cheering.
Video from the night shows a group of white teenagers punching him while yelling racial slurs like “F*** that n up” and “kill that n.” At one point, they shoved him against a meat grinder, then slammed him to the ground and kept beating him.
This is not “kids being kids.” This is racial violence in 2025, in Wisconsin, and it demands accountability.

A message to Russian supporters: Your deluded, brainwashed by Russian bullshit propaganda.
You’re on the wrong side of history.
Supporting Russia is just the same as supporting Nazi Germany in WW2 and every day Russia behave like them.

JD Vance and Donald Trump can't even criticize Putin for hitting an American factory in Ukraine.
Does Putin have access to the Epstein Files or something? 🤔
