How to fight @Sony@PlayStation's anti consumer bullshit & killing physical media.
- Cancel PS+
- Buy physical games of every game you bought digital already & only buy physical while you can.
- Pirate their PC games
- Emulate their games
- Jailbreak your consoles
Fuck Sony!
I bought a PS5 just to keep pursuing my passion for modding.
I waited 6 years before getting one.
And honestly? Starting from the next console generation, I don’t think I’ll be buying another Sony console.
To me, physical media was one of the few things that still made consoles feel meaningful compared to a PC. It meant ownership, collecting, freedom to buy, sell, lend, and preserve games.
If you take that away too, what’s left?
A crippled PC.
A closed ecosystem.
A monopolistic store where you can only buy what Sony decides to sell you, at the price Sony decides, under Sony’s rules.
At that point, just save your money and buy a computer.
At least there you have control, freedom, modding, real backward compatibility, alternative stores, and hardware that isn’t sold as gold years after release.
Over the past 6 years, Sony has sold 2019 hardware as if it were revolutionary, pushed services, remasters, remakes, higher prices, and an increasingly poor first-party lineup.
Continuing to fund this direction, in my opinion, is a mistake.
Consoles made sense when they offered simplicity, physical media, exclusives, and identity.
If they’re just going to become closed PCs, then you might as well buy a real PC.

So 1 in 5 people…
There are 132 million active PlayStation players ever month.
Thats Sony pissing off 26.4m people.
If those people buy just one physical game a year at £60, that is £1.584 billion they’re preparing to leave on the floor?
cutting physical media cuts costs only for the company. they get to save on production, design, shipping and still charge the same thing with nothing being passed on to the consumer
@PlayStation You are killing ownership. You are killing legal preservation. You are killing discoverability. You are killing publishers. You are killing developers. This is a move that might slightly improve bottom lines, but tear down every other aspect of this medium. Well done! You f*d up!
Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron are facing a new federal antitrust lawsuit in the US that accuses them of working together to keep DRAM production artificially low, leading to higher RAM prices.
The lawsuit claims the companies limited supply while demand continued to grow.
According to the complaint, this allowed memory prices to rise much faster creating a “RAMpocalypse.”
The lawsuit seeks class-action status and asks for damages on behalf of businesses and consumers who allegedly paid inflated prices for products containing DRAM memory.
The three largest RAM manufacturers in the world are being sued for allegedly working together to fix the supply and price of memory, leading to the recent surge in price for consumers.
