I love this energy! 🔥🔥 What an amazing tribute to Michael B. Jordan from a talented young group of kids in Uganda. This is the kind of joy and pride that shows just how far our stories really travel.

While America has a 4.4% unemployment rate, it's SURGED to 7.3% for Black women. This is economic injustice in real time. When DEI programs are dismantled and federal jobs cut, Black women pay the price FIRST. We will not be silent. Economic justice IS civil rights.
Latriece Watkins is stepping into one of corporate America’s most influential retail roles. A graduate of Spelman College and the University of Arkansas School of Law, Watkins has played a key role in shaping Walmart’s broader business strategy and expanding Sam’s Club’s reach to higher income shoppers.
Just three years after joining Sam’s Club, Watkins’ leadership and vision earned her the top seat. Her appointment as CEO takes effect February 1.
For the community, this moment matters. Representation at the executive level isn’t just symbolic, it influences hiring practices, supplier diversity, and how everyday consumers are served. Watkins’ rise is a reminder that Black leadership continues to reshape corporate spaces from the inside out.
This is what progress looks like when preparation meets opportunity. 🖤
Black women are the most educated group in America by degree —associate’s, bachelor’s, and graduate degrees.
They earn more degrees per capita than any other group, including white men and white women. More than 60% of all degrees earned by Black students go to Black women.
And still, they’re among the most underpaid.
More educated, less paid. Overqualified, underestimated, and undervalued. Every time.
wow.

🧵 57 years ago today.
Me and my mother, #CorettaScottKing, at my father, Rev. Dr. #MartinLutherKingJr’s, funeral service at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta.
I’m sharing this thread of photos, not to cause sadness, but to remind us of a cause as critical today as it was then.
The Triple Evils (racism, poverty, and militarism) that my father was working to eradicate still persist.
As a result, families, communities, villages, and nations are mourning at this very moment.
Daddy wasn’t assassinated because he said he wanted his children to be judged “by the content of their character.”
He was gunned down because he was courageously and strategically working to dismantle those Triple Evils.
He was speaking truth to power in government, media, and religion about the Vietnam War, about economic injustice + racial injustice, about ‘The Other America’ (https://t.co/n83Fs6o2zY), about the violence of the U.S. government.
We can overcome and eradicate persistent evils with persistent, consistent good, as demonstrated by truth and strategic, love-centered, courageous action.
My parents believed.
I believe.
