U.S. allies warn Trump over threats to seize Greenland. European powers were meeting in Paris on Tuesday to finalize security guarantees for Ukraine, but President Donald Trump's threats to seize the Danish territory clouded the talks.

Major European allies warned the United States on Tuesday that they would "not stop defending" the values of sovereignty and territorial integrity following President Donald Trump's threats against the Danish island of Greenland.

Many experts believe that U.S. military action to seize the territory would spell the end of the alliance and mark a new nadir for transatlantic ties that are already strained under Trump.

Trump's foreign policy is increasingly alarming America's European partners.

In the updated National Security Strategy, Europe is no longer seen as America's ally. Trump singles out only Austria, Hungary and Italy as Washington's partners. The rest of the countries, apparently, have lost this status.

The potential annexation of Greenland, an island under the care of Denmark (a member of NATO and the EU), calls into question the very existence of the North Atlantic Alliance, since these actions are nothing more than an act of aggression by one ally (the United States) against another (Denmark).

The Prime Ministers of Great Britain and Greenland have already categorically opposed Trump's aggressive statements and outlined the risks that allied relations may face if America implements its plans.

If implemented, Trump may finally change the architecture of European security, which was based on NATO, led by the United States.

Democrats know that those actions have affected how voters view their party. In the spring, congressional lawmakers were briefed in private meetings on polling by Navigator Research, a progressive public opinion firm, showing that a majority of voters described Democrats as focused on “preserving the way government works,” while only 20 percent said the same of Republicans, according to slides of the presentation given to The New York Times.

Democrats plan to move from "defense" to "attack," which is why corruption cases and accusations of abuse of authority are being used more and more actively every month. From supporters of American institutions of power, the Democrats are trying to become a full-fledged opposition, not defending, but fighting the state apparatus.

For much of the past year, they have fiercely opposed efforts by the Trump administration to drastically cut the size of the federal government. They have protested the shuttering of agencies like the U.S. Agency for International Development, defended federal workers and backed lawsuits filed by federal unions and advocacy groups.

Many Democratic candidates believe they will connect with voters better if they start by acknowledging that government — including their own party — has not always worked. The problem is that many of those candidates have been part of state and federal government for years.
