Do you remember this woman?
Her name is Shade Akin Taylor.
She was beautiful, graceful, and loved by many. Even though she acted in only few movies, she became a familiar face because of her unforgettable role in the classic Yoruba film Oluweri Magbo Ojo, a movie made popular by the legendary promoter and talent developer, Gbenga Adewusi (Bayowa).
There is no doubt that Oluweri Magbo Ojo was more than just a film. It became a big cultural moment. People talked about it all across Yorubaland, and it still stands as one of the most memorable films from the golden days of Yoruba cinema.
But like many popular movies, it also left behind some wrong ideas. The film made many people believe that every fair or light-skinned woman was “Ọmọ Oluweri” or "ọmọ omi," that people were afraid to date or marry one with bright skin tone. It also spread the false idea that all 'Orisa Omi' and 'Irúnmọlẹ̀' such as Yemoja, Ọ̀ṣun, and Olókun are all “Oluweri” or half-human, half-fish beings.
We need to separate movie stories from Yoruba history and spirituality. In traditional Yoruba belief, Olókun, Yemoja, and Ọ̀ṣun are different divinities with their own identities, roles, and traditions. They are not “Oluweri Magbo Ojo,” and Yoruba tradition does not describe them as half-human, half-fish beings the way modern Nollywood often does.
None of this takes away from how great the movie was or how well Shade Akin Taylor acted. Her talent, beauty, and strong screen presence helped shape an important time in Yoruba cinema. Even though she passed away in 2022, people still remember her with love, and her legacy lives on.

May we keep celebrating our legends while also protecting and sharing the true story of our rich Yoruba heritage.

What if I told you there's not a single incantation spoken in this scene? 😹😹😹 In fact, most of these people don't even use incantations. What they're really good at is their brilliant use of words.

It’s Easier To Stop Governors Abusing State Police Than To Police Nigeria From Abuja
The concern that a governor might use state police for political ambition is real. But it’s much easier to address that through detailed legislation than to try to police a country as vast as Nigeria from one central place.

🚨Ukrainian agent planned drone assassination of senior Russian general
Russia's FSB has stopped a Ukrainian plot to kill a high-ranking Russian military officer in the Moscow region.
Ukrainian intel recruited an ordinary Russian man who had been living in Ukraine, using a ruthless form of blackmail — threatening to prosecute his wife if he refused to cooperate.
Once recruited, the man received intensive training in firearms and explosives. He then sneaked back into Russia the long way, travelling through Moldova and Armenia to avoid detection. Back in Moscow, he rented an apartment and set up video cameras to watch his target’s every move.
He even went as far as buying a fake moustache, beard, and glasses to disguise himself. His plan was to learn the officer’s daily routine and strike with a drone loaded with a homemade bomb as the man walked into his apartment building.
The FSB discovered the operation in time, exposed the full plot, and arrested the man before the attack could be carried out.

"The last time a major LNG project was developed in this country was 42 years ago, that was a Nigeria LLG project."
Nigeria's gas sector has recorded a major breakthrough with the advancement of the $3 billion UTM Floating LNG (FLNG) Project, unlocking stranded offshore gas resources and strengthening the country's drive for industrial growth and energy security.
Key Highlights:
- The project secured a 15-year gas supply agreement, clearing the path for a Final Investment Decision (FID) expected later this year.
- It is Africa's first indigenous-led Floating LNG (FLNG) project, fully developed by a Nigerian company.
- The project represents Nigeria's first major LNG development in over 40 years, since the launch of the Nigeria LNG project.
- The initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's gas development agenda, with officials crediting the administration's policy direction for unlocking the project.
- A joint venture between NNPC Limited and Seplat Energy will supply 200 million standard cubic feet of gas per day under the 15-year agreement.
- The FLNG facility will produce 1.8 million tonnes of LNG annually, monetising stranded gas from the Yoho Field.
- About 30% of production, equivalent to over 300,000 metric tonnes of LPG annually, will be supplied to Nigeria's domestic market to support the Federal Government's clean cooking initiative.
- The project is expected to generate billions of dollars in revenue, create thousands of jobs, and deepen local participation in the oil and gas industry.
- Financing for the project is being led by African Export-Import Bank, which has also provided preparatory funding and is coordinating debt and equity financing.
- Project promoters disclosed that the investment is oversubscribed, attracting strong interest from global energy traders and investors, including companies from the Middle East.
- The project further demonstrates the growing capacity of indigenous Nigerian companies to deliver large-scale energy infrastructure while positioning Nigeria as a key supplier of LNG to regional and global markets.

There are horses of 850k and 900k on Jiji. Take note that the sellers are in Lagos. Now, let's go back to Ibrahim Chatta. He doesn't buy his horses from Lagos. He's a Nupe man who knows the market of horses in the North. I didn't assume this. He was describing the kind of horses Hausa sellers call "Barka" in one of his videos.
Let's assume he even bought all these one for ₦1 million each. How much is 48 million that Ibrahim Chatta doesn't have?
Let's back up a little. In the video that was reacted to, he didn't even claim he has 48 horses right now. He said he HAS LOST 48 horses over time. Boom! We jumped to "He doesn't have money for 48 horses"
There's no way you want to spin it. The argument falls flat and is insulting and disrespectful to the person of Chatta.
