Entered $BB off the U&R of the support gap.
Frustrating stop out of my $FTNT shares at 153$ breakeven… undercut my stop by 75 cents and then ripped 10$, unlucky…
@ohiain Hey Iain, thanks for the great Insight! Do you take on a second position if the first one works the same day? Or do you wait a day after taking more exposure?
The followthrough in $DELL is really frustrating to me, since I bought it yesterday but took it off in the evening because I thought it didnt have enough cushion for this kind of enviroment. In hindsight I shoud have kept it
There will always be another opportunity somewhere tho
My job during a correction is pretty simple:
- Not buying.
- Not aggressive.
- Just observing.
I'm looking for stocks that...
> hold the 9/21EMA
> refuse to break support
> stay near highs
> outperform their sector
Those names become next week's watchlist.
Think about losses the same way a business thinks about expenses.
- A restaurant pays rent.
- An Amazon seller pays for inventory.
- A trader pays with LOSSES.
None of those things are enjoyable.
But they're necessary... businesses don't avoid expenses altogether. If anything, they try to minimize expenses.
Do you see where I'm going with this?
The goal is making sure they stay small enough that the business survives.
@ohiain One question Iain, wouldn‘t you have gotten stopped out if you set the stop at LOD if you bought it yesterday at 10:21? Since it undercat the low that day
@jfsrev Thank you for answering my question and the great insights! Looks like I have to do alot more research and backtesting since I havent looked at it that way…
@jfsrev Thats probably true since im pretty new still and learning. I just noticed, when looking at breakouts that worked out alot of them are explosive, which is why I had that question. Thanks for your reply Jeff apreciate it, you have already helped me alot in my learning proccess.
Took a stab at $NBIS $INTC and $HUT today. It violates my progressive exposure rule but since I took only small position sizes I think its fine. I am already at peace with what the outcome will be.
