Jharkhand Deepens Commitment to Social and Emotional Well-being Through Project Sampoorna Phase 2
The Jharkhand Education Project Council (JEPC), Department of School Education & Literacy, Government of Jharkhand, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Sampoorna Consortium on 15 July 2026, marking the launch of Project Sampoorna – Phase 2 and reaffirming the state's commitment to strengthening Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) across the education system.
Speaking at the signing ceremony, Shri Shashi Ranjan, IAS, State Project Director, JEPC, highlighted that investing in children's emotional well-being alongside academic learning is essential for building stronger communities and a brighter future. Dr. Avinav Kumar, SPO – Quality Education, JEPC, emphasized the importance of community participation in creating an ecosystem that nurtures resilience, empathy, and emotional well-being.
With Phase 2, the Sampoorna Consortium has expanded from 6 to 16 partner organisations, reflecting a stronger collective commitment to holistic child development. Together, these partners will work with teachers, school leaders, government officials, parents, and communities to create learning environments that foster empathy, inclusion, resilience, and children's overall well-being, alongside academic development.
With a stronger focus on education systems strengthening and community engagement, Phase 2 aims to embed Social and Emotional Learning into everyday school practices, advancing a shared vision of holistic and inclusive education for every child in Jharkhand.
