No one tells pre-meds to work in fast food.
But maybe we should.
As a doctor, I'm still using lessons I learned working at In-N-Out as a college student.
Here are six fast food lessons I'll keep forever:
@DrSomedayMaybe @sampson8331 Former sub-elite runner here 🙂. Firstly, good for you! Enjoy every bit of the marvelousness that is the NYC marathon. Your challenges will be fueling and chafing. Good advice from others on fuel. Recommend 2Toms SportShield anywhere w/friction: toes, thighs, underarm. Have fun!
@olgakhazan Beach cities behind the Orange Curtain (Orange County, Ca). Newport Beach, Huntington Beach, etc. Every time I hear about some whack a doodle in Ca going off on a Starbucks worker about wearing a mask — yup, OC.
Just over a year ago, I read a paper which showed that when private equity buys nursing homes, death rates go up 10%. I was a med student at Stanford, but I halted my studies to investigate. Today, that investigation was published in @NewYorker https://t.co/cQzbWggk46
BREAKING: White House issues new policy that will require, by 2026, all federally-funded research results to be freely available to public without delay, ending longstanding ability of journals to paywall results for up to 1 year. Coverage coming on @ScienceInsider.
This letter from my little nephew miraculously landed in my mailbox. It's an 8x10 piece of paper that he folded and taped into a 3x3 square, stuck a stamp on, and put into the mail. Someone @USPS cared enough to hand sort it to its destination. You made this Auntie's day💌
