"Splashdown!" This week we celebrate the 1-year anniversary of our recovery of the Artemis I mission! The @NASA_Orion spacecraft was successfully recovered inside the well deck of the USS Portland on Dec. 11, 2022, off the coast of Baja California.

It all began on Nov. 16, 2022, when Orion launched atop the @NASA_SLS rocket from @NASA_Kennedy. Five days later, Orion flew by the Moon before entering a distant retrograde orbit for six days. Upon returning to Earth, it flew closely by the Moon again before splashing down and completing the Artemis I mission.
