@RulingTigress I wouldn’t say lying. I’m damn good at my job, but there was a ton of sleeping. You aren’t paying me, right? What’s the point in lying to you? Stretch truth maybe. And you’re safe. That’s what really matters.
@RulingTigress …Okay.
Here and there. In the shadows, lurking. Looming. Nothing too particular. You seemed safe, so I’ve given you a bit of space.
Haven’t missed my company too much, I hope.
@PerennialViolet “I use it as background noise a lot. A comfort movie of mine.”
He tilted his head, brow quirked. His posture eased, leaning forward to rest his elbows.
“I don’t think I’ve heard that one. It’s beautiful, but I don’t know.”
@PerennialViolet “The first is a movie. Beetlejuice. A movie I’ve had my fair share of watching a lot of. The second is a poet. Robert something? I read it in a book once and it just stuck with me. Not many things have that effect on me.
Now, what about you?”
“Sometimes, you just want to return. Sometimes you need to check in, or, a change of scenery. Even if this place is better than out there, sometimes…you gotta leave.”
His grin grew slightly, shrugging his shoulders.
“You were missed. A lot. It’s nice having you back, for how—
⠀
“ Mmm, it could've been better. I returned home for some time, though I don't exactly know why. My absence won't change what occurs there, and it makes it no less painful. ”
⠀
Following his example, its taste bringing about an unfamiliar grin.
⠀
“ Perhaps I return ―
⠀
@PerennialViolet “I have two.
‘Never trust the living’. A great one, if I’m honest. And two, ‘In three words I can sum up everything I've learned about life: it goes on’. Truest thing I’ve ever heard.
No matter what, things move on.”
“Heh.”
Taking the piece with a faint grin, he tossed it in his mouth with a hum. He nodded, quickly eating the piece.
“Lots returned recently. It’s really been bustling around here, surprisingly. It’s been noisy but…less cold. Anyway. Welcome back.
How was your time away?”
⠀
You really are the nicest one here ...
⠀
( As promised, it's broken in two. It isn't neat by any means, though her lack of grace is made up for by way of her giving him the bigger piece. )
⠀
Everyone is still here though, it's nice to see familiar faces again.
⠀
@PerennialViolet “I say it’s not. Other food choices have ingredients and that’s all hot pot is. That is to say you can’t eat the separate ingredients without the hotpot though. /Thats/ cheating.
Hm. Oh, here’s one. Do you have a favorite quote? I do.”
@PerennialViolet “If I ask something off limits, feel free to say next. Hm.
You’re placed under a spell and you’re only allowed to eat one food for the rest of your life. What is it?”
@PerennialViolet “Does everything need a point?”
He shrugged his shoulders.
“Why can’t friends chat about nothing~?”
He’d tease, genuinely asking for pure interest.
“I don’t really know much about you, so, why not?”
@PerennialViolet “Don’t gotta share if you can’t, or don’t want to. I get it.”
He returned the smile, humming to himself.
“Alright, what about movies? Any ones you like?”
@PerennialViolet “Interesting choice, and so fast. Any particular reason? Dont think I know that one.”
He’d look with a quirked brow, arms loosening against his chest.
“Just curious. I love information.”
@PerennialViolet “Not a bad obsession to have, in comparison. Much rather have that than someone trying to kill me.”
He’d chuckle.
“Let’s see…oh. Favorite fictional character? From anything.”
@PerennialViolet “Oh? Fan of Ahab or the whale?”
His gaze shifts over toward a specific section of the library. One where he knew the book resided, if it were still there.
“One of the rare few I’ve…heard about. Heh. It’s on my list to read.”
@PerennialViolet “I hate tea. Most teas. Lavender tea is a favorite of mine because it was something my mom really liked. The smell, the taste, the flower. I grew up around it, and it brings me comfort.
Now, tell me a book you really enjoy.”
His head tilted his head.
“Any book.”
@PerennialViolet “Just one. I took two to test it and was out almost a week.
…So give someone a heads up if you do.”
He flashed a grin before nodding his head.
“Okay. Why blueberry? They’re amazing, but why?”
