@johnmilbank3 I have been thinking, Coleridge (and Wordsworth together) present the best model for us to build on; with there creative synthesis of multiple strands, such as: non-conformist spirituality, Anglicanism, tender, but vital, notions of conservatism. Also matter + spirit, old + new.

@johnmilbank3 Rowan Williams made a similar point in his lecture on Wednesday; saying that both left + right have a tendency to be destructive + sterile rather than constructive in building a shared cultural creativity + imagination. Seems like an historic role 4 CofE + other adjacent thought.

@saturnine_grace I wonder how this vibes with a lot of early Christian tradition, that has carried on to the present, that because of original sin or something else; morality does have to be imposed in some way and in a manner that is in alienation from a free relation to existence.

@saturnine_grace Yes + no; yes for obvious reasons; but no because it is ethical that ethical action should be rewarded; so one should act for this fuller meaning of morality which includes your own reward. This combo of a yes + no in action is in some sense Faith; and this is what u should act 4
