I'll be honest and say that if I read this 5 years ago, I would probably be clutching my pearls. But one of the things that opened my eyes was reading the thoughts of every Prime Minister from Barton to Menzies. I just find it difficult to accept that all those men were wrong
My guess: the SMH approached The Catholic Weekly and said "Hey, this Stephen has written for you in the past- do you have a comment?". And this article is their response
Nice pick up. You will notice too that this article - which quotes one of the Stephens - was published the same day as the SMH hit piece
This just seems too coincidental to me, particularly because they're talking about an event which took place a month ago
The Catholic Weekly’s Daniel Ang warns that nationalist ideas alienate migrant communities who now “sustain the Church”.. Well Australia used to be a White Christian country, now it’s a multicultural country- perhaps the enemy of nationalism is also the enemy of the Church?
Recently I worked in London for a few months and took a hiatus from social media, I thought it would be a political reset..
Turns out seeing your homeland like that is quite radicalising, so I flew back and in days mobilised the largest anti immigration protest in Aus history.
If academics like Stephen who are protected by far greater freedoms to speak and discuss than you can’t express a dissenting view, then none of us have free speech.
If comedians are the canary in the coal mine of free speech, academics are the miners.
We are the beneficiaries.
The Sydney Morning Herald has published two articles attacking me personally in the past two days. I am not famous. I don’t have a huge social media following. So why the attention from such an important newspaper?
Simply put, the media sees that since the March for Australia protests and the Charlie Kirk assassination the political right is becoming more confident and assertive, and they are trying to put the revolt down by making an example of two seemingly easy targets, me and my colleague, Dr Stephen McInerney.
This is nothing new in the leftist playbook. The question is always whether conservatives can count on their fellow conservatives to have their backs.
What are my sins? Simply being vocally opposed to the ideology of multiculturalism, being opposed to Anglo-Celtic-European Australia falling into a minority, and openly advocating an immigration policy that focuses overwhelmingly on Europe. For the left, simply to not want Anglo-Europeans to fall into a racial minority in Australia (or elsewhere) is now considered a form of “white nationalism” or white supremacy.
Unfortunately, a lot of conservatives have also unwittingly bought into the leftist notion that it’s ok for Anglo-European Australia to become a minority in the country it largely built as long as those who replace them embody “Australian values”. Don’t be duped by this. ‘Australian values’, as opposed to Australia’s Anglo-Celtic and more broadly European identity, is little more than a Trojan Horse for population replacement. Just open your eyes in the major cities and you’ll see that it is happening.
For those who read the articles, you will see that at no point is there any quote from me that can be construed as in any way racist, unless the meaning of ‘racism’ is defined very broadly to include pretty much all conservative views on immigration.
In short, the left is furious that conservatives are in revolt against their cultural masters, and it is trying to kill the conservative pushback in the cradle.
This is not a time for conservatives and patriots to retreat in fear. This is the time to rally behind and support one another, just like the left never fails to do for its members who openly espouse literally racist and terroristic ideas.
Stand strong. God bless Australia.
@DrewPavlou Any chance we will one day hear our own government agencies talk about the threat of left wing extremism, or is that too much to wish for? I heard an agency head once make a passing reference to antifa at a senate estimates hearing, but that's about it
