These grocery store strawberries in America were cut up and left for ants outside

Some strawberries are even put in an area that has tons of ants everywhere

The area full of ants empties out, they all leave and avoid the strawberries

Our food is literally poison. Ants used to swarm fruit and strawberries in particular if you left them out. Now the ants leave the area

There are 2 main reasons for this

Modern strawberries are bred for shelf life, firmness, yield and appearance over flavor and sweetness. Our old strawberries were sweeter, these new bland ones are less appealing to ants

The big reason is pesticides

Strawberries are among the most heavily treated crops with pesticides. Conventional strawberries can carry multiple pesticide and fungicide residues that are toxic to ants so they avoid them

Translation: You are literally eating poison
