@PazzoArrabbiata It doesn’t have to be a continued race to the bottom. Demand better because you are worth it. Also, so many private sector jobs have many negotiable perks and benefits, bonuses, and flexible vacay/sick time…
@jhillmark @Frankli20958991 @tdsb I’m sorry that you don’t understand how education sector works. What you said doesn’t make sense. They would still be working - it just might look different than your day-to-day. They have no holiday to take from.
Sit down. Listen. Stop with the threats. And make sure the people who support our kids are treated respectfully. They shouldn't have to juggle three jobs to feed their own children.
The ball is in your court. Any disruption is on you, Minister.
Revisiting MarineLand last week and seeing Smooshi the walrus for the first time in a decade was like going back into a nightmare to finish a dream. The park is even more decrepit and cruel than ever. Once we’ve removed the walruses, we’re coming back for the whales & dolphins.
BREAKING: MarineLand Canada has dropped their decade long lawsuit against me. We have resolved our issues and settled matters without costs. Smooshi the walrus and her offspring Koyuk will be re-homed ASAP. Details and statement to come. #SavedSmooshi
Every time I log back in to Twitter to take a quick peek to see if anything has gotten better, I am just reminded at how shitty and polarized the world is. 😑
Educators, While you should be treated like heroes, the reality is you do get tired, frustrated, run down, and exhausted. I hope each of you find a way to rest and refill your cup this weekend.
@MikeJToronto I will be in the classroom hanging out with my students. I also have lunch duty another eating time. I’m fine with being around them all.
@sarahboesveld The right answer is realizing that children are at tiny risk from Covid and huge risk from school closures. It is realizing that people of great privilege are making decisions which devastate the vulnerable and voiceless.
Yup. And as with everything else, a closure will disproportionately impact low-income students, while giving the province time to.. what?... implement major safety protocols in two weeks? To control the spread of a variant that is already wildly out of control?
Statistics Canada:
- More than 80% of COVID-19 deaths occurred in long-term care.
- ~90% of COVID-19 related deaths among seniors 65+ occurred among individuals with pre-existing chronic conditions, with dementia as the most prevalent comorbidity.
