I've been debating the monarchy in Canada for over 20 years. And for 20 years, the pro-monarchy people have claimed it's this ESSENTIAL part of "our system" that is IMPOSSIBLE to modify or change in ANY way. Yet now we have a premier of Quebec who just got sworn in with no oath to the monarch, administered without a representative of the Crown. So either he is an illegal, illegitimate premier, or the monarchy doesn't actually matter and can be gotten rid of quite easily.
